Re: Is Thre Life After Death?

There is life after death, just not your life. If you mean(as I am sure you do) is there some sort of essence about a person which continues to live on after they die, then I would say no.

Yes if you eat Baconaise:lol:

Yes. I was thinking of your essence/spirit..whatever you call it. Does it continue?

(side question:....For those who believe in reincarnation......If you are just reborn as someone else, how do you explain population increase over the years? (where do the new souls come from)

Up with a sick dog tonight. :(

sorry, but its better than being up a sick dog;)

I didnt believe in life after death till I read pilogys post

Ok sorry if what I said was "anal" as you children call it, but my point is that there can be no absolute answer to this question. Why? Because we don't know.

We cannot say yes or no, because there is no proof that either way. Its important to have a theory though, so that is can be proven, or atleast we can attempt to prove it.

Simply, the scientific method is still an ongoing process for the "afterlife question."

So then it would all be a question of belief, which I think is evident in the question. This is a poll of belief, not trying to get people to scientifically prove an afterlife.

Yes, but my belief is that we don't know. So all I was saying is that "other" should have been an option.

I vote other because I believe there are several ways a soul can go after death. And you didn't mention ghosts. I may be wrong, but if I am, the worst possibility is I go to Hell, but that's really possible no matter what I believe since there's no way to tell which religion is right or wrong in who goes there til after you die, if there is an afterlife at all. Also, I figure you really have nothing to lose in believing in an afterlife as long as you don't allow people to take advantage of that belief. The worst that can happen if there isn't an afterlife at all and you believed there was is the same thing that would happen anyway, your conscienceness would cease to be.

Yes, your soul continues.

They come from God. A soul is an aspect of God anyway, kinda like a lens focussing the divine. So it is just a new lens. The lens is embedded into a material matrix we know as the body, the mind. It presents itself as our consciousness. Animals other than humans don't have consciousness, therefore we cannot be reincarnated as an animal. Reincarnation follows the Law of Karma. We reap what we sow.

Is that what you wanted?

I hope your dog is better.

No one really knows, so, after death, I'll return and let you know.

Nope. You're born, you live, you die, you become worm food. End of story.

If there isn't, then there are no interminal consequences to anything you do.

That being the case, neither you nor anything you do has any meaning whatseover.

Of course it does, it just has a temporal meaning, not an atemporal one.
