Do you get flu shots?

Do you normally get a Flu Shot

I'm very healthy and invincible. I've never had a flu shot and it is not a priority.

I got one shot so far. I felt like crap for a week..

I try to avoid it but being in a risk group my Dr usually pounces on my arm when I am visiting over some other stuff. I might put up a bigger fight over the swine flu one though.

I have a healthy fear of needles. And my immune system kicks ass!

I'm more scared of the mercury than the actual needle. Regardless of it being safe or not, I don't need flu shots. I've been fine for the past 20 years of my life without them :)

Bit of curiosity here. They're offering it at my office and I just realized I've never really gotten one, partially because I avoid shots if possible and partially because I've just never gotten the flu and have convinced myself the moment I actually get the shot is the year I get the flu.

Do you get flu shots, do you not? Do you do it because you want it or you feel like you should do it? Do you not get it because you don't think about it or because you simply don't want it?

Before having a child, I never got a flu shot. Now that he is exposed to other children in day care, and I can't help but kiss him and love on him all the time, I need to protect myself. If I didn't have Weston, I wouldn't get a flu shot.

I use to get them when they were free where I work, but not anymore. They never seemed to bother me.

Yes, reason, my wife say I whine to much when I'm ill, she is convinced that the majority of men are drama queens when it comes to illness:)

That is true. When my husband is sick, I make sure we have plenty of cheese to go with the whine.

Would you care to share some with me, I would love to be icky pooh and suck on your Queixo de Tetilla.:tongue4:

That has been my experience too. The worst reaction I ever had from a vaccine was a mild pain in my arm for a couple hours. Well worth it to prevent a week of sickness IMO.

I'm surprised how many people said they felt crappy after a shot. Allergic reactions are very rare for most kinds of vaccines (including flu shots). I wonder how much of it is psychological rather than physical.

I never have, never will, have never needed one. I rarely ever get sick. I still don't see any point to it.

If you contract the standard flu and your body fights it off, the immunity you gain from that interaction will be much better for you than the shot.

Oddly enough, that's the same reason I give for sleeping with slutty women.

Never got a flu shot. It has been about 5 years since i got the flu, and after an influenza test yesterday, i have it again. Un****ing believable.

No Drugs, sometimes are on the Good Reverend. Yeah, I'm that good.

I have all sorts of immunizations from the Marine Corps, and I've had to get a couple more recently, for entering the healthcare profession. But I haven't gotten a flu shot in 5+ years.

The one year I didn't get a flu shot in the last 20 years or so I got a really bad case of the flu. I did get a flu shot this year (not N1H1 yet) and last year I got type B influenza (which was not included in the 2008 vaccine) but it was not really too bad especially since my doctor started me on Tamiflu right away

The only time I got a flu shot (almost 20 years ago) I ran a fever and felt like poo for two or three days. The flu typically makes me ill for four or five so I decided at that point I would take my chances.
