Okay I thought it would be nice to do a little comparison and take a break from all the partisanship and discuss our favorite fictional presidents from TV and Movies. So whats your favorite fictional president and why?

You first. BTW, where's the poll?

Yeah I started it then screwed it up. Am I able to edit it still? I was trying to decide who to put on there as everyone would be different. I like David Palmer from 24 He was measured, cool under pressure but he really carried the series. But second in that series would be Logan he was very crafty and sly. Maybe the Dead Zone president as well but lately I've been watching the West Wing and like Bartlet.

I don't know of any fictional presidents.
Do you mean in tv shows, or movies, or in books?
For some reason, I can't even think of one.
Maybe if you had a poll or a list of options, that might jar my memory.

Off the top of my head:

Jed Bartlett (Martin Sheen) in The West Wing
David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) in 24
Dave (Kevin Kline) in Dave
Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers) in Dr. Strangelove
Jeff Bridges in The Contender
Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact

I'm sure there are lots more.

Just because he kicked arse. The movie sucked, however.

Colbert for the Win

Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact. The movie was too underappreciated because of Armaggedon.

Did we really need two ****ty asteroid movies in the same summer, both with a ridiculous plot and terrible dialogue? ;)

Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho (Terry Crews) Idiocracy

Jack Ryan - Tom Clancy Series
Harrison Ford - Air Force One
Michael Douglas - The American President
Jeff Bridges - The Contender

Richard Nixon.

Andrew Shephard - The American President.

He had one of the greatest speeches of all time about America and our complicated, challenging system of government.

LOVE IT.

p.s. I find this speech particularly relevant to the healthcare debate, and the Republican tactics in regards to healthcare. They had an opportunity to shape the healthcare discussion like statesmen, and they've abdicated that role to serve as fearmongers. It's a shame. And the American people deserve better. Healthcare reform is a serious issue, and it deserves better than what they've served up to their core.
