if you think about it though, you couldn't FIT a human being every 1.2 inches.

if we wanted instead one person say, every 6 feet, so they could safely do jumping jacks if they felt like it that would leave 59/60ths of the population to be in the army or even grow a few crops. we could even spare a man or two to put along the gulf in case those wetbacks get wise.

That ten voted "yes".
Sab
I voted yes, as a joke.
Of course its possible.
Build a wall 50 feet thick, 200 feet high, completely around our entire nation and *d a m n* the expense. Ingore the Chinese, the Russian, the French, and other failures...

do you really think a fence along the mexico border would cost more than what illegal immigration costs us ?

people like you never bother to think. you just like to imagine in your own head that your opponent's view is funny without ever considering it.

you are the problem.

There's a difference between possibility likelihood here. Its definitely possible for the U.S. to seal its borders even if takes years, but its not likely.

Give texan conservatives the right to shoot on sight, and they will LITERALY make a red rover style chain of defense... no joke

1. Give the illegal aliens 2 weeks to leave. (advertise this on all radio, TV, and newspapers)

2. After the 2 weeks expire, arrest any illegal found and give them 5 years at hard labor. (picking fruit or whatever)

3. get e-verify up and running.

4. Fine any business $10,000.00 per head for any illegal hired.

5. Build a double fence at both borders with intruder sensors and guard towers.

6. Patrol coastal waters out 20 miles, board all suspicious vessels.

That should be a fair start.

there is a million ways to do it. and most of them will work. but nobody will admit to this because they don't want this problem solved.

We are the U.S.A. If we really wanted to do it? Of course we could! Duh:)

When captured terrorist are read miranda rights, there is no hope to the eviction and prevention of illegals existing in this country.

No.....The real problem is that rich businesses & individuals employ them as cheap labor. (including Mitt Romney as gardeners on his Massachusetts mansion);) Romney fires landscaper after Globe inquiry cites illegal immigrants - The Boston Globe

(Isn't Romney one of the front runners for the GOP Presidential nomination in 2012?.....Oh yeah........The GOP really wants to stop illegal aliens from coming into this country alright!!)

We seem to be split right down the middle on this question.

Let me add a new wrinkle here:

Considering the standard thinking is that the Dems like illegal aliens because....... they are just poor people looking to improve their lives & a potential source of votes

& the Repubs like them... because they are a source of cheap labor to work in their factories, mow their lawns & great whipping boys for jingoistic "Yelling Points"....

Which Party is really more interested in ending illegal immigration in this country??

(or are both major parties just paying "lip service" to this problem while snickering at us taxpayers?)

Making immigration requirements much easier would help greatly. Millions are going to come whether we want them or not. Immigration can be very beneficial to an economy, especially one with a declining birth rate. However, it's best not to keep them all underground where they can only work for low wages and depend on and drain our entitlements and welfare.

It would be a lot easier if the government of Mexico did more to provide a better business climate that creates jobs for its citizens. They don't need to do anything about the problem if their citizens can just leave if they don't like it. There's no reason why Mexico shouldn't be as rich as US and Canada.

The fact that Mexico is where they are must be a major embarrassment:3oops:.
I wonder how the politicians there explain this to their people..
This would be most interesting..
The truth about Mexico would be even more so..

Of course it's possible. Not with this Congress, but it's definitely possible. I don't understand how somebody can say it isn't possible.

Of course it's possible, but the real question is, "Is it practical, and will it create numerous unwelcome side effects?"

Well....At this hour exactly 1/2 of your fellow poll responders are saying exactly that........That it isn't possible.
How do you explain that fact?

It's not practical to perfectly seal the border. But the numbers can be reduced significantly by erecting barriers, use monitoring combined comand and control capeabelities to target areas of illegal entry. Use intelligence, that is, send spies to find out ahead of time when and where illegals will attempt to cross.

So I guess your answer to the poll question is YES......It is impossible to seal our borders.

Now.....If someone were to start a new poll asking:

"Can the numbers can be reduced significantly by erecting barriers, use monitoring combined comand and control capeabelities to target areas of illegal entry. Use intelligence, that is, send spies to find out ahead of time when and where illegals will attempt to cross?"

Then your answer would also be YES.......but that is not the question being asked in this thread.

Sorry...Long day yesterday. The poll question is "Is It Possible To Seal Our Borders?"...So your answer would be NO.

But, the poll question was not:

"Can the numbers can be reduced significantly by erecting barriers, use monitoring combined comand and control capeabelities to target areas of illegal entry. Use intelligence, that is, send spies to find out ahead of time when and where illegals will attempt to cross?"

To THAT question, your answer would obviously be YES.......but that is not the question being asked in this thread, & my point is still valid..

you want to know if it is possible to seal our borders like tupperware so that there are no undocumented entries anywhere, ever? with no exceptions? and we should all vote NO, that is what you wanted when you made the poll?

i'm sure that the Mexican government will love that

I think Canada, Mexico and USA should Unite and stop the failure borders.

Same here. I laughed when I first heard of this idea a few months ago, but it's very possible and we could keep our sovereignty. I strongly believe Mexico would join our union since they lack financial resources, man-power to combat the drug cartels, ect.

It's a win win for both of us in my opinion. The U.S. will have 3 more states and
no more money will be spent on FAILED immigration enforcement. In fact, we could use the border patrol troops to help combat the cartels.

The best part of this will be the fall of the Mexico-U.S. border fence. Children from both sides of the border will be able to play with each other like they could in the 1990's.

Oh yea, and we will no longer feel like we are living in Berlin!

Canada on the other hand... Well, I don't think the queen of England and the people of Canada would like the idea. :2canadian
