in other words, you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the psychology of sadists and sexual deviants but you think Vick fits the info you skimmed through while reading a news article. Thanks for acknowledging that your opinions on the matter are an lamateurs opinion at best.

I'm not the one claiming Vick is an incurable sadist. I'm not ignorant enough to make claims I can't backup without prefixing with "in my opinion" or "to the best of my knowledge".

because mine has evidence! argumentum ad populum. I see now the caliber of person I am dealing with.

The insane asylum known as PETA are even withholding judgement. What's that say about your position?

I see that personal attack....Always the tactic of a losing argument......is what you choose to resort to so, again keeping in mind your are one the losing end of the poll results......Carry on with your personal attacks & don't forget to turn the light out when you're done.:2wave:

Current poll results (at 9:45pm, EST) show that by over a 2 to 1 margin, the members here (in this totally unscientific poll) would boycott Eagles games to show their displeasure at the signing of Michal Vick.
The court case is over......Michel Vick has served the proscribed time the legal system imposed on him but the only remaining court (& the most important one in the end) is the Court of Public Opinion which I feel justified in claiming (by the poll results) that this "court" does not feel that Michael Vick has been sufficiently punished by the legal system & I would go as far as to say that this "court" has handed down a Life with no Possibilty of Parole sentence to Mr. Vick.

I mean, yeah. Especially since football is boring anyways. They call a flag on every play. If you want interesting sports, check out soccer, hockey, or basketball. At least, they keep moving in those sports.

Nope, just the "guys" that kill dogs for financial gain, and a sick perversion. Let me know if anyone actually "ate" the aftermath. The Bastard didn't kill for food.

Agreed?

So people who make leather jackets dont kill animals for financial gain? I dont think you could actually eat a leather jacket unless your charlie chaplin in Alaska. In any case just because you dont agree with dog fighting doesnt make it any less barbaric then what goes on in meat plants. Nor any less barbaric then forcing a dog to guard a junkyard.

Let's get the facts straight O/M. He made money off forcing dogs into ripping each other apart. And quite possibly, for his own sick amusement. Now, why you'd defend a sadistic bottom feeder like that, I haven't a clue.

Take care.

As I understand it, Michael Vick did the following:

Separate from a series of illegal activities like: dog-fighting, gambling, tolerating drug-use and sales at these fights, tax evasion, here are some of the things he did to the dogs he had that I find offensive:

1. Used other dogs (typically smaller dogs) as "bait" to help teach his fighters blood lust. Typically this involves throwing a much smaller dog into a kennel with no ability to escape and after the "dog in training" has either been shocked a few times or if it's territorial, you put the "bait" in it's space so it's an intruder.

2. Killing dogs that didn't "fight well." And the methods of killing the dogs included: drowning the dogs, electrocuting them and also strangling them by hanging.

3. Badly treated all of his dogs. This is not a case of treating dogs royally until they lost a fight. This is an instance of an A-hole mistreating all of the dogs. And yes, that included torture (which is often a means of "training" a dog for dogfighting)..

I see many have their panties in wad over Vick.

Two statements first:

1. I am not an anminal rights nut
2. I am a dog owner/dog lover

It's a free market & the Philadelphia Eagles have every right to help their bottom line by signing anyone they want.
That being said, I have every right to boycott their games & products sold by their sponsors.(I am a NE Patriots fan but intend to communicate with the Patriots my intention to boycott any game they play against the Eagles, not watch any Patriot vs Eagles games on TV & boycott any sponsors of these games.

Anyone wish to express their comments?

If I watched sports then I would have to say no I would not boycott a sport team. I have two dogs and I am against animal fighting .However I see animal fighting no different than raising animals for food or using a animal to pull plows or having an animal perform circus acts.In case this hasn't been pointed out already Seeing how the votes are not public one has to wonder which members actually voted yes and which voted no.

& you have every right to your opinion as well.
Question for you though:

IF the allegations I've read about (reprinted below) were PROVEN to be true, would that change your mind?

It does not change my mind. It seems to me the media's main gripe is the dog fighting not the other things you listed. Even with those things you listed one still has to wonder which members who actually voted for what.

Why would who voted for what, or the media's "main gripe" determine YOUR opinion on the poll question?

The poll question asks what YOU would do.

Serving his prison sentence gives him the right to freedom from prison. It doesn't give him the right to walk back into a job at the top of professional sports, make millions of dollars a year and return to his celebrity status.

No, that would be his talent, assuming he has any. ;)

You aren't a very educated person when it comes to sports if you think he's at the top of the sport. He is going to be a back up quarterback and will make 1 million dollars his first year. What's wrong with paying him to do something he's good at?

Then let's pay him to torture dogs....He's very good at it!
Are you the Phil Eagles owner? If not you are not paying him a damn thing.

Anyone who buys a product which is advertised during Eagles games or pays admission at the field is paying Michael Vick's salary.

You stated 'let's pay him to torture dogs' so are you prepared to start up a dog torturing business and hire him?

Anyone that wants to watch an Eagles game is buying a service from the Eagles. What they do with that revenue is their business. If you don't like any of their business practices that much, don't buy their service. Otherwise its none of your damn business. ;)

There is no pill for that which afflicts chicks like you. There is no antidote once you have consumed the Kool-Aid.

I wonder if you're going to boycott the Browns, or if the stick up your ass is only for Vick.

Yes! Donte Stallworth killed a man, while doing the most irresponsible, reckless activity you can do. And he got 30 days in jail!!!! Apparently pit bulls' safety >>>>>>>>>>>>>> human life. It's ridiculous.

Vick deserves another chance. He's made some dumb decisions throughout his life, but everyone deserves another chance. Since the Dolphins debuted it, I've been dying to see Vick in the Wildcat. He is going to be a serious problem in the NFC this year. Eagles vs. Jets in the Super Bowl, you heard it here. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!!
