Folks, we have all heard the desire to reinstate the so-called "Fairness" Doctrine, supposedly to give equal time to opposing sides of an issue. My take on it is simple! It is just a way for Liberals to monopolize all of the media, like they once did before President Reagan repealed it.

EPIC FAIL

Really? Where have you heard this? Oh that's right, Rush and Hannity, those bastions of honest intellectualism.

Sorry but this belongs in conspiracy theories.

Can you give us the bill number for the proposal to reinstate the fairness doctrine?

It was a bad idea. It remains a bad idea. Hopefully it will stay just a bad idea, and no numbskull Anti-Republican will attempt to make the bad idea a worse law.

But knowing the present administration and his willing minions in Congress, I would not be the least bit surprised if it reared its ugly, diseased, festering, pus-filled, abscessed, infectious, putrid head again!!

Thank goodness the SCOTUS put the kibosh on it (Fairness doctrine) for now!!

And so has your hated President squashed it as well. So come one now, step up to the plate and praise your President for supporting this.....ball is in your court.

Here is the best President this country has seen thus far:

He is also the one responsible for repealing this in the first place!!!

No you putz, I bleed Red White and Blue. But the pusball in the WH right now has disgraced the Oval orifice to no ends!!!!

I think its a very facist idea.I also think liberals think they arent tempted by fascist ideas because they think liberal is the opposite of fascist.Fascism is actually very popular and you only really defend against it when you defend those you disagree with against it.

For now, but what's to say Der Komissar won't bring it up again???

Why would he bring up something he opposes? There is very little chance that a fairness doctrine bill is going to get passed, this whole thing is stupid.

Point being is that Dear Leader has attempted to quash any and all opposition, to epic failure, to his radical leftist agenda. So you can understand why my answer to this is: HELL NO!!!

Oh good lord, just go back to your little Montana bunker.

You realize how you are making yourself sound? Rabid, unthinking hyperpartisans are laughable. You make a thread about the fairness doctrine(which is dead), bitch about Obama, and apparently are unable to understand that Obama is against the fairness doctrine. This whole thing is about nothing, and you are just using it to spew out a bunch of mindless bitching and catchphrases.

I say the federal government doesn't have the Cosntitutional authority to issue broadcast licenses, period.

On top of that, the government has no legal authority to regulate content.

And to put cherries on it, the Internet is rapidly making broadcast TV irrelevant.

If it applied to the television besides radio then it would actually be fair, since it does the term fairness doctrine is a misnomer. I do not support forced speech being applied to private companies. If it was tax payer radio station then yes it should present both sides of issues.

It's a political ploy for whoever feels like they are not receiving enough serious attention.
