Do you believe that opposition to Obama is mostly based on his race

Is opposition to Obama mostly due to his race?

Your question is ridiculous but I will answer it anyway. I would support anyone, of any race or party who favors Obama's agenda/ideas for change......... & I would oppose anyone who wants to defeat his vision for changes desperately needed in this country.
So IOW, turning this country into another Eurosocialist paradise and watch it decline like ALL THE BLUE STATES?? Gotcha!!

Here are just a few bits of racism aimed at Obama that are quite enough to prove that a "Belief" that most opposition against is warranted:

They were all old story's that have nothing at all to do with the mainstream. The first two were aimed at racist groups like the KKK etc who do not represent mainstream conservatives in any way.

This story is about racist organizations to begin with. It is also from February of 2008 over a year and a half ago.

October 16, 2008 Another story before the election which has nothing to do with now.

You have got to be kidding.

Hate watch

Keeping an eye on the radical right.

Oh my goodness! They get the information from Hal Turners web site.

No need to even discredit this load.

May 13, 2008. Again has nothing to do with the here and now.

Jujst a few quick links to show that my belief is well grounded in evidence & to label my belief as ridiculous is.........ridiculous!....& arrogant.

Which basically show how desperate you are to show Obama's failures and dropping numbers are due to racism.

Don't twist the argument to one where you expect me to PROVE my belief, which I don't claim is PROOF. It certainly clears the bar for a belief based on evidence, however.

If some real evidence existed I would be inclined to give your argument at least some credibility. So far you have given little which is credible and allot which is no more then hyperbole.

No...You claimed I had no evidence on which to base my belief , which I proved wrong. Now you are demanding evidence to PROVE my belief. You can move the goalposts all you want, but we both know I backed up my beliefs with good reason.

They called her that?

Some did. But unlike Devil, I'm not willing to ascribe it to "most" of the people who criticized her. But then, I allow for the possibility of good faith disagreement.

Holy ****, i thought you were kidding.

Which is what i was meaning to highlight but you took the words right out of my mouth. I doubt most people thought 'she is black' when they criticised her and that same benefit of the doubt should be given to those who oppose Obama.

Btw, how does that logic work with black people who criticise Obama? Self hating?
Or even white people ... he is ofc mixed race

Can this argument work the other way around?

Bush was not very popular and criticised amongst African Americans and other minorities, a good percentage of them voted against him.
Was it just because he was white? o_O

Not likely since, prior to Obama, the black community never had anyone but a white man to vote for, but of course some may well have. Most???? I doubt it.

No...You claimed I had no evidence on which to base my belief , which I proved wrong.

That would be a lie...

"I say YES to the question. Most opposition to Obama is racially based, & yes...I truly believe that." - Devil505

You have provided no evidence at all that "most opposition to Obama is racially based."

What you have shown is most of it comes from fringe groups that have very little if any power politically.

Now you are demanding evidence to PROVE my belief. You can move the goalposts all you want, but we both know I backed up my beliefs with good reason.

As I have shown I have moved nothing and you are trying to obfuscate, rather badly. :2wave:

There's almost certainly a faction of the black community who would consider a black person opposed to Obama an "Uncle Tom" (race traitor) or some other derogatory thing. Won't speculate as to how many, though.

Or even white people ... he is ofc mixed race

Interestingly, some of the black community criticized Obama at one point because he's not -- according them at the time -- "authentically" black.

Re: Do you believe that opposition to Obaema is mostly based on his rac

<Let me try to clarify my position here:

The question is Do you believe that opposition to Obama is mostly based on his race?

To which I answer yes. The majority of opposition may well not be racist but its BASIS, by that I mean the right wing leaders (Rush Limbaugh, etc) who are leading the opposition, I believe are doing so mainly due to his race.
Now, the anti-Obama rhetoric they spew out may be based on arguments against specific policies, but that is just a dodge. Many people may hear these lies & accept them as true & oppose Obama based on Limbaugh's (as an example) lies.

These people may not be racists....just stupid!;)

But the answer to the question remains the same: Most opposition is BASED (by the leaders themselves) on racism.

You continue to try to move the goalposts to make me PROVE my belief. I never claimed proof, just that I BELIEVED something. You attacked my belief as baseless, which I proved wrong. Trying to change the subject will not work. We are arguing whether or not I had reason to believe something...which I do & proved.

I believe you are an idiot

Then it should be easy to find some evidence that right wing leaders like Rush Limbaugh (he is a radio host and leads nothing.) is a racist. It's not like Rush, Hannity or all the rest went against Clinton, oh wait.

So to clarify you have no argument and are calling them racist but you have no evidence to call them racist?????

<But the answer to the question remains the same: Most opposition is BASED (by the leaders themselves) on racism.

Then please post the evidence to back this up. :2wave:

So far you are just looking extremely confused and are trying to back pedal from your original statement.

Interestingly, some of the black community criticized Obama at one point because he's not -- according them at the time -- "authentically" black.

I know people who do not see him as 'black' either and use the term 'bounty bar' to describe him.

Is a "bounty bar" an English thing? Never heard of it. :)

I have quite clearly explained why I am justified in my belief. I never said I could PROVE my belief & you are arguing the same point using different words.
This question has been answered & your refual to accept my answer is your problem.
I'm done with it.

Chocolate.
Really nice (coconut and chocolate - Yum)

The idea behind it is that he is black on the outside but white on the inside so that means he is not 'really' black but white.

Kind of figured. Here, they'd say "Oreo."

Not really, you are lying and trying to backpedal.

I never claimed proof, just that I BELIEVED something.

"I say YES to the question. Most opposition to Obama is racially based, & yes...I truly believe that." - Devil505

To which I responded:

"No evidence exist to support this position. I would say this is as bad as the birthers movement." - Blackdog

So yes I am still correct and you are still playing the shuffle game.

So far you have posted no evidence at all that the majority of the resistance to Obama is racism. "Most opposition to Obama is racially based, & yes...I truly believe that" is blatantly false.

You attacked my belief as baseless, which I proved wrong.

No you did not. You have yet to prove anything you have claimed. In fact you have shown me to be correct as you have no evidence at all, none.

Trying to change the subject will not work. We are arguing whether or not I had reason to believe something...which I do & proved.

No you have not, and you are lying.

No you have not, and you are lying.

Wanna meet me after school?

(amazing how quickly you guys return to grade school BS when your arguments are shown to be ridiculous....Is it any wonder that you guys have been thrown out on you butts by the voters?)

I have quite clearly explained why I am justified in my belief.

No you havent.

You posted some old disconnected articles that have nothing to do with what you said.

I never said I could PROVE my belief & you are arguing the same point using different words.

Then you are admitting you have about as much credibility as 9/11 conspiracy folks and birthers on this subject. You are also admitting I am correct and your opinion is based on nothing, thanks.

This question has been answered & your refual to accept my answer is your problem.
I'm done with it.

Thank you for nothing?

Never heard of that, i'm assuming it is the same thing :p

Calling you out on (what he in good faith believes to be) a factually untrue statement is not "grade school BS." It's the essence of debate.
