Here is a little quiz to test your political aptitude.

Which of these ten items are sovereign American rights?

Vote for all that apply. Do not vote for those that don't. Read and vote carefully.

Your score will be a point for each right you vote for and each wrong you don't vote for. A perfect score is 10.

I will let this run for several weeks and announce the correct rights and the highest scorers later.

Which of the poll's ten items are sovereign American rights? This is multiple choice. Vote for all that apply.

You have a right to a lot of things.
What you do NOT have is the right to be able to exercise those rights without being able to pay for them yourself.

I picked the bottom five. Business and travel are rights, provided you have the money for either. You did not put provided, thus they are rights.

You have to clarify whether or not said right is a positive or negative obligation in regards to a second party. For instance:

A negative right to food means that other people (the second party) are not permitted to obstruct my consumption of it.

A positive right to food means that other people (the second party) must provide it for me.

So, you must distinguish between positive and negative rights.

Americans have EVERY right in the world!
:2razz:

Public education as a choice is surprisingly rare. I went for that and the last five. Vague question.

Where are all the pinko commie lib socialist Messiah supporters?

I'll play devil's advocate for your arguing pleasure. American's have a right to everything on the list! You greedy, filthy, selfish people do not think that we should educate children, or help the sick, in what is the most wealthy country in the world, well you can just all go to hell!;)

There, now retort.

You do a very good imitation.

We greedy selfish people (I take showers at least once a month whether I need it or not, so I'll object to your use of the word "filthy") think people who have children should pay for their education, and that sick people shouldn't get sick if they can't afford the medicine, everyone has to die of something sometime, but there's always charity funded by the donations of all those wonderful humanitarian socialists who care so much for everyone. There's so many of them, there's really no reason to believe that the poor will go untreated, not if the socialists are telling us the truth about how wonderful and holy they are.

You just hate everyone, probably yourself to! And if you refuse healthcare and education, what do you get? A higher crime rate, which leads to more in jail, which leads to an increase in taxes to maintain the prisoners. So you are still going to pay for them! BoooYaaah!:2razz:

If a "perfect score" is 10, and you gave 10 options, then all options must be rights according to you.

Gee, funny how people always pretend that the crime rate is low because they're being extorted tons of money in unrelated measures, or that they're guilty for the higher crime rate when those measures aren't paid for at gun point to the tax collectors.

So how high was the crime rate in the 1870's, when the nation hadn't violated the Constitution and begun paying for public indoctrination centers called "schools"? Answer: Crime was low enough.

How did people pay for their health care in the 1930's when the government and the insurance companies didn't jack the prices through the roof of the Empire State Building? Why, they used cash, and the costs were reasonable.

How was the poverty level doing before LBJ created The Great Scam Society? About 15% and decreasing steadily? How was the poverty level in '68, when The Great Scam Society was fully implemented? About 12% and steady. What is the poverty level now? About 11-12% and unchanged for forty years.

How about making prisons really really uncomfortable, by spending the absolutely minimum amount of money on them and then telling the people if they have kids they have to pay to educate them, it's not some stranger's job? That's worked throughout all of history.

It's called "personal responsiblity", and it's that, not socialist scams, that made America the greatest country on ever seen on the face of the earth.

Actually, you are wrong. There are rights which you can excercise whether you can pay for them yourself or not.

Like, for example, a trial by a jury of your peers.

:D

Yes, but that's not a right that you need means to exercise.

Good Job! Bottom 5 suits you! I mean WTF is your avatar? :rofl

O.K. I see some trees, legs, and some strange looking thing and looks like strange and legs are in a car.

It's a poster for the show Californication, with Duchovny in his Porche, and a woman's legs. It's boss!

A perfect score means picking whether they are or aren't rights. The answer "no" can be correct. It's like a true/false test.

Oh, how nice to see such an un-typical conservative response.

"No government until I need it, and no empathy unless I've experienced it."

Rights, and all else need acceptable definitions..
So, as usual....no vote.
I have scanned the Bill of Rights...but do not test me....I'll fail, IYO..
I think man has access rights..I do not think he has rights to "free" items...
He has the right to be protected...more or less....a 24/7 police force would be prohibitively expensive...
He does have the right to be safe from an oppressive government...but this can occur on a local level...
An absolute right to gun ownership ??....I hope not...too many nut cases.
