A question for people who don't smoke

I don't smoke, I hate it, I hate it so much.

But eff that, what's gonna happen when marijuana is legalized? Less illegal sale? Less crime? Oh dear that sounds bad for America! :doh

Don't know. But insurance (assuming you have it) will pay to keep you alive as the cancer eats you away. Actually, people without seatbelts tend to die quickly with little overall cost. Smokers die slowly and bleed the system.

I'm new here, so I'll give you a pass on the "elitism" thing. You will find I'm actually just a smart ass. I'm not elitist at all. Yes, I'm better than YOU, but that hardly makes me elitist.

Truth really is stranger than fiction.

And the stupid people really are outbreeding us. I firmly believe this. I also believe that American society is gradually getting dumber.

Fifty years ago, restaurants didn't have to attach warning labels: "This coffee is hot."

Actually, it will probably be the government paying, Medicare/Medicaid.

Oh, and people who wear seatbelts are less likely to be hurt in an accident(source: Seatbelt Physics) and less likely to die.

Actually the tobacco industry can't physically treat the cannabis crop they way they do with tobacco, well not unless they want a crap product that no one will buy. This is because the cannaboid production (the recreational compounds) is a very sensitive process and any shortcuts from seed to product will decrease quality. Cannabis essentially has built in quality control. I think it is impossible for cannabis to be massed produced like tobacco. I think if cannabis is legalized we will see markets of localized producers, much like the Netherlands.

This is why I fully support revoking seatbelt laws. People who are too stupid to wear a seatbelt generally fall into the category of "too stupid to live."

The stupid people have always been there, they're just getting more attention now. I would like to believe that people have gotten smarter in the last 50 years, but that's probably just me being an optimist.

When did I say different? And people who eat very little saturated and/or trans fats also live longer and cost less. Should we ban saturated fat?

We do more now to protect the chronically stupid from the consequences of their actions. 100 years ago, chronic stupidity = death/dismemberment. I am in favor of allowing the stupid to fully experience the results of their actions without coddling by the nanny society.

In the alternative you are simply one of the dumb people, so most everyone else seems smarter by comparison! I'm not saying that's true, mind you, but it could be. I don't know you well enough yet to judge. Just throwing ideas out there.

Not worried about that. Most internet IQ tests put me at about 125, and my grades and enrollment in IB proves it.
