I prefer liberty over democracy.

Democracy allows for slavery, liberty does not.

Sometime in the future we will look back at the chain of events and see that much of what we do today is almost as bad as the slavery of the past. I’m proud to be on the right side of the issue, even if certain young punks only concerned with getting high laugh it off.

Wow. I think I'm getting a tear. Wait no. More laughing at somebody who's clearly trying too hard.

You put way too much emphasis on the softballs you are lobbing at us.

I’m hitting ‘em out of the park with minimal effort.

But please, tell us again about the virtues of democracy while you cower in the corner smoking pot and wondering how it was that your ancestors were held in bondage.

What I find laughable is that you actually believe what you preach. Which is a little scary in the sense that it verifies the claims so many on the left make that gun owners are part of a gun powder sniffing cult. I have to wonder whether it's all those erections from reading Ron Paul blogs that are draining the blood from your brain or whether it's just a faulty gene in the minds of so many extreme conservatives. Probably combination of both.

But look - since you're having so much fun using liberty like some sort of Google keyword and covering yourself in that one of a kind U.S. flag(woven from the dead skin that falls off Ron Paul's forehead at every one one of his rallies), I hear that they are having an ammunition sale at one of the GTA4 gun stores. If you hurry you can make it to the sale AND make it back home just in time to finish that Ron Paul altar you've been working on for so long. How does that sound? Go!

Mayan calendar says 2012, so no need we are all gone then!!!lol

So the question is: Are you getting prepared for hard times? Or are you not worried and think these fears are exaggerated?
Preparing for "hard times" isn't panic, it's prudence. If there's one thing human history ought to teach any person it is that hard times will come--and they won't announce themselves ahead of time.

People should always prepare for hard times. When hurricane season comes to the Gulf, every year I check the lantern batteries, store up a few gallons of water and non-perishable foodstuffs, prep the first aid kit, sharpen the knives, and generally make ready to be thrown back to the 19th century by Mother Nature.

When times are good, I build up my reservoirs of wealth, in preparation for when times are bad. I have been predominantly self employed for most of the past two decades, and my capacity to survive in that paradigm depends on having the self-discipline to store the largess of today against the famine of tomorrow.

If I see an increase in general lawlessness in my neighborhood, I will most certainly add an accumulation of ammunition and firepower to my preparations.

That doesn't make me a survivalist. That makes me a survivor.

Have you seen more or less lawlessness in your neighborhood lately? In case you have...

[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States[/ame]

In 2004 America's crime rate is roughly the same as in 1970, with the homicide rate being at its lowest level since 1965. Overall, the national crime rate was 3982 crimes per 100,000 residents, down from 4852 crimes per 100,000 residents thirty years earlier in 1974 (-17.6%).[4]

All this talk about buying guns just in case...but uh yeah... no I don't see crime in America getting worse or for that matter our country having reached a point of no return. That of course depends on who you are though so I guess if you ask anybody too far right they'll probably think we're about 20 minutes away from complete implosion. Rivers of lava and all that other jazz.

It sounds like since you can’t properly defend your absurd love of democracy, that you have to bring up subjects not even at play.

Ron Paul is simply a man…..a man not being discussed on this thread by anyone but you.

No. I simply don't have to defend why democracy is better then the lawlessness dressed as liberty you support all because you couldn't get Ron Paul elected. It's simply a matter of me looking at you like a sore loser and nothing more. One who tried democracy failed and now advocates some disney version of 'liberty'. In the real world, the one we live in,nobody supports your views and version of liberty - so what do you do? You support doing away with democracy all together and scream liberty at the top of your lung like you're some 15th century patriot when all you are is a disgruntled citizen who isn't getting his way. Now tell us all how we're dumb because we think the 'liberty' you advocate is nothing but silly over the top nonsense that exists in nobody's mind but those of you and your cult.

Ron Paul is simply a man…..a man not being discussed on this thread by anyone but you.

I hear he can speak 14 languages and eat rotten food then **** out completely edible organic vegetables.

Silly question. Sheesh! I'm Indigenous, we're always ready for someone to come into our homelands to try to take what we have left.

Being a survivalist is a necessity out here.

Cool -when the :hitsfan: I'm bunking with you.

Wow are you ignorant.

Lawlessness has nothing to do with what I advocate. You defend subversion of law based on populist sentiment, then cry about how we don’t respect democracy.

Again not true in the slightest. Democracy is fine so long as checks and balances exist to protect the tyranny of the majority. As a black person that chooses to defy the democratic rule of law and use illegal drugs, it’s amazing how hateful you are about a type of ideology that could only benefit you (and your ancestors)

Let me give you a little piece of advice. I know some real extremely zany Ron Paul supporters exist, and they would fly in a fit of rage by your school yard semantics, but I’m far too level headed to get angry by such childish pursuits. You are only making yourself look bad in this pursuit to introduce Ron Paul in every discussion that involves libertarian leaning individuals.

It's never a bad idea to be prepared for some form of hardship.

Comet's going to make a near pass in late 2011. Said it might be close to enough to pass between Earth and Luna-- probably kill the planet if it actually hits either.

Prepared with reason. This is the reason to be prepared when what was your own country takes from you.

I think the currency will be food.

I agree. We have lots of dried deer, elk, moose, bison and all kinds of dried berries stored. The guns are for hunting food, not protection. But, they could serve a dual purpose if need be.

ever see the science channel show, "what if we had no moon"?
Life on earth would change drastically, much of the population would cease to exist if we had no moon, if not all of it.

The people with the ammunition will be the people with the food.

Being fat to start with is being prepared, right?
I carry an extra 20 pounds with me all the time, how prepared is that?
