But what if Obama will ballance the budget?

You should of included on the poll that if Obama is sure to not ballance the budget, who would you vote for.

I am still praying that Obama will ballance the budget after the economy recovers. I still have some hope...

WHAT?!

This President and Congress have shown in less than three months that they will not be restrained in his spending, do not understand basic economics, and are not bound by anything so abstract as a pledge or promise.

Surely, you don't really think that there is any chance at all that this Congress or President will "balance the budget."

C'mon!

Hey Oftencold! you run away from the other forum from too many liberals? This place is different in that way...

I know they won't ballance the budget NOW, but ive got... idk I just really hope... that they will ballance the budget when the economy comes around again. tax increases on the rich will help for that, and this discretionary bailouts will hopefully dissapear soon. If that is the case, then I may vote for
Obama

Nerv, The economy isn't going to "come around" under this regime. It's like turning a sheep inside out and hoping for wool!

While the Republicans have become a dwarf version of their former selves, the Democrats have mutated into something pretty much alien to the American systems, political and economic.

They are not "tweaking" the economy. They are not "managing it" (nearly impossible.) They are not even mis-managing it. They are canibalizing it.

I continue to advise any of you living in urban areas to stock up heavily on non-perishable food items.

I said Republican but I tell you what. If it is not someone like Ron Paul, they can kiss my vote goodbye.

I will guarantee you that within the next 4 decades -barring a series of ridiculously damaging and implausible events like say the East Coast being completely destroyed by a dirty bomb followed by California getting hit by an immigrant induced earthquake and finally Texas deciding it'll become it's own country - nobody like Ron Paul will ever be elected. Have fun hoping. :)

Huh, this says a lot about Obama....

It should tell you that he is not a socialist and he is not as anti conflict as he said he was in the campaign. If you are against the invasion of Iraq from the beginning as he said he was, how can he leave the troops there.

I would rather vote third party than for the two sides of the same coin coolaid drinking cantidates we get now.

Why on earth would I want to put the guys whose policies caused this nightmare back in charge??

As Bush 41 used to say: "nah gah-nah dew it".

I would surely vote for the Republican and hope they have learned their needed lessons. I had a bad feeling about Obama when he flip flopped on his campaign pledge about public funding. It proved to me that he was anoth John Kerry.

Well that's an easy one. The preception is that the war has already been won. If he pulled them out immediately and Iraq went to hell-in-a-handbasket, he might suffer politically. The politically expedient path is to leave them and, if there are problems, blame the military and Bush.

At this point, a person would have to be completey daffy to believe Prez Doofus has an ounce of integrety. ;)

.

Rush should run. I'd like to see what dumb ass comments he makes on the campaign trail. They can't get any dumber than what he's saying now!

certainly it would be an entertaining election cycle....:2razz:

I wouldn't mind voting for a Romney - Palin ticket.

I like Romney's qualifications and most of his ideas, and am not too put off by his being a bit distant from real world social issues.
But Palin has to grow and learn a lot before I can vote for her.

I will vote for the candidate that most appeals to my personal beliefs.

Interestingly enough that's usually the republicans.

Unfortunately democratic candidates usually try to restrict ownership of firearms that I own.

Hey, government supported economists may have reasons to say that the economy is healthier then it is when the economy seems to be doing well, but I think we can trust them right now.

If economists started bringing up our hopes, when they knew that this economy still had a way to go down, then that would be hurting Obama politically. So the only reason that they have to say that we will be alright, is if everything will be ok soon.

Meh, If I were a part of the economist team I would probably try to put false hope in the people for the simple fact that there's a good chance that they would start spending more thus fueling the fire in the process.

So I don't necessarily believe that it's getting better at all. I think they may be trying a placebo-like tactic.

Yeah, I can see that. But that means that if the economy wouldn't improve after the increased spending, then we would be in an even worse place about people being distrustful of the government.

So I think we can trust them now. But when the economy recovers, we need to be watchful again that they don't create another bubble with cheap money.

Nerv, economists say things to get published. "Right" or "wrong" hardly enters into it.

Has Obama balanced the budget yet? Then why would anyone vote for him?
