Do you honestly think either of them would be willing to admit the opposing side might have some reasonable ideas? .

No. Its a lose/lose for Obama even if he kicked butt in the debate which I doubt would happen anyway. Has anyone been stimulated yet besides the privately owned federal reserve owners? No sign of it here.

Should I respond to my dog pissing on the floor by taking a dump on its bed?

Agreed. The stimulus isn't going to help us average folks out all that much - I'm no expert, but I just can't wrap my head around why so many things in that bill have little or nothing to do with stimulus going to the people who really need it. Anyone who claims it doesn't contain spending unrelated to stimulus hasn't read it.

In recompense for being so morose, here's a video from the Onion that makes me chuckle:

In The Know: Should The Government Stop Dumping Money Into A Giant Hole? | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

Does anyone else think it's amazing that the kind of lunacy within some of these banks, insurance companies and car companies almost seems to be expected (so they get huge government handouts), while if any of us were so irresponsible with our own finances we'd have few other options than bankruptcy?

I'm not clear on the point you are trying to make. Would you mind clarifying?

If my dog does something childish, I shouldn't respond by doing something equally childish, as I'm an adult with opposible thumbs and the ability to acquire beef jerky whenever I desire.

If Limbaugh does something childish like challenge the President to a debate, he shouldn't respond by doing something equally childish, i.e. accepting, as he's the leader of our country and has approximately 40,000,000 more important things to be concerning himself with.

This first childish act in this particular farce was for the DNC to target and elevate Rush into being the "head of the GOP" so he would be in a position to debate the newly elected president. Gun meet foot.

No ****!

I don't know why Obama would care that Rush challenged him to a debate. I am sure he has more important things to deal with.
