Here just an example of why Limbaugh is not worth putting a tie on for let alone actually debating.

Democrats Blast Limbaugh for 'Reprehensible' Kennedy Comment.
WASHINGTON -- A Democratic official says Rush Limbaugh's remark Friday that President Obama's health care proposal will be named in memory of Sen. Edward Kennedy is outrageous and reprehensible. Brian Wolfe is director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Limbaugh said on his radio show that "Before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill."

Kennedy. a long time champion, of health care reform, is battling brain cancer.

He's a tacky, bloviating douche bag.

I voted He should not; He will not.

Why should they debate? Rush is a talk show host for crying out loud.

Like they wouldn't do such a thing?

You know they would.

He just has the humor and prescience to say so before they had the chance. And now that he's said it they won't likely do it.

How ridiculous. The comment was absolutely callous given the man's battle with cancer. It's not humorous at all. It's callous and tacky. It speaks volumes about Limbaugh's character. And yours apparently.

Apparently so.

No one is making fun of the illness. But Rush IS making fun of the Dems who would attempt to trade on the illness.

Such as John Edwards trading on his son's death when running for President until Ann Coulter called him on it.

Climb down from your high horse.

/sniff sniff

please are you going to be soft on anything left wing. the man is a murderer. i find it less funny that people like you support murderers.

yeah dont expect him too, he would rather take someone out of context than be honest about it. fact is rush lines people like lerxst up perfectly. he makes a statment that can easily be dishonestly twisted like lerxst infers then hammers them with the facts....

sorta like a huge brick wall but people like lerxst wont his the brakes. ;)

Precisely. She gets it.

No... you both fail to get it.

Obama and his Hatchet Men for Hire from the Clinton administration have conspired to make Rush the Leader of the Opposition.

Let's break it down so you can understand it.

The Obama Team, through his Chief of Staff and his friends have publicly stated Rush is the leader of the Republican party.

Shouldn't you sit with the leader of the opposition just one time if you really want to fulfill your claim to "Unite".

To seek bipartisan solutions.

You do remember that word don't you? Unite?
It was one of six words Obama could get out without a teleprompter.

Yes
We
Can
Hope
Change
Unite

Perhaps it's too much for Mr. Teleprompter.
Maybe he can only recall five words without his teleprompter.

You guys talk so tough, talk such a complete game, but when the ball is put in play... you balk. You whine. You cower.

All mouth, no game.

The poll is insane.. I never remember Bush or any high up Republicans accepting a debate with Alex Jones.

No, let me break it down so you can understand it. Taunting and baiting me isn't going to make this debate happen. You can rehash your same illogical argument all you want, but Rush is not the leader of the GOP, he never will be. The GOP is shifting to a somewhat moderate stance, Rush is an extremist douche bag with a bully pulpit. This is a celebrity stunt, nothing more.

And it's doesn't make you right. It just really pulls the focus to your obsession over a pointless issue.

But you have fun with that.

:2wave:

Well of course not, but there is a difference here. Alex Jones is a retarded conspiracy theorist who's actually considered the fringe that hangs on the fringe. Rush is just a hyper partisan wind bag who has a following among people who love to listen to his voice.

Both are the same.. Not identical and not really the same, but they are symbolically the same. Rush is a retarded conspiracy theorist as well, the drivel he spews out has no reality written on it.

Of course, he is president and should remain above such rhetoric and spin. Obama clearly knows that many GOP leaders are distancing themselves from Rush and will work with his administration for the good of the nation. If Rush reported that his show would be quite a bore. Thus, by mentioning Rush, Obama made him relevant where he perhaps was not before.

They are? Who, and since when?

What I don't get it why so much is made of this....and why the dems seem so desperate to go after Rush. Like I said before, he is a radio talk show host.
What are they afraid of, and why are they doing this rather than try and do something with the suck economy we are having to live with.

I think they should at least have a nice, civil, private lunch together and share a six pack between them, maybe a couple of cigars.

It would be good for the world...heh. :)

I wouldn't say that Rush is the leader of the Republican party and in many ways he is a horrible bane upon the Republicans. But he does wield a great amount of power as can be seen with people kowtowing to him. Just looking at numbers it makes sense that if a significant portion of Rush's audience agrees with him then they will likely vote Republican and therefore the Republicans would not want Rush to turn against.

As for Obama debating him, even if he were the single most powerful man among the Republican party it would not make sense for him to do this. Obama has issues that are more pressing than debating some blowhard. Is there really even a precedent for a president to use his time in office to debate his political opponents?

I voted no/no. The US is better off with a strong looking president if only for appearances sake.

Mr. Limbaugh would crush him in an open factual debate sin teleprompter.

Then what?

President Obama gains nothing from winning either.

Seems to me that The Obama has seen fit to call Limbaugh out.

So, Rush offers a debate.

Rush to the President: Debate Me

Should The Obama debate Rush?
Will he?

If not, why not?
After all, is He is so right, what does He have to lose?

First off, Obama would rip him a new ass. 2nd, Obama didn't call Rush out, Rush made a mistake and the admin, wisely, jumped on it. 3rd, Apparently Rush thinks he is more important than he really is, just because the administration is using him like a hammer to pound repubs doesn't mean Rush is anything but a tool.

Still waiting for an example of a sitting president accepting a debate with a private citizen. If it isn't done, then why suggest it should be done?

Can't think of any, and I don't think Obama should.

Can you name any example of an Administration clearly and openly going after a private citizen with such aggression and negative language?

And no, I'm not talking about theoritical conspiracy theories with no legitimate sources that a White House person happened to contact through numerous contacts to get some bad press made about some random person, but actual legitimate statements by an administration against a private citizen.

The President of the USA should not debate extreme partisan hacks for any reason...

Sorry but I don't think that Rush says anything worth debating. Rush is a total jerk.

I love people who spend tons of time attacking something they never listen to, but simply parrot what they heard third hands...

If he says nothing worth debating, why are you in this thread?

I listened to Rush the other day just to get feel of what the man has become.

Rush has become almost a Madd man. everything he says is pure B.S. He need to use a good laxitive. Is Rush a citizen. I heard that he was an illegal alien from Panama. make sense to me. Rush doesn't sound like an American.

I cannot even see any reason to listen to his Crap. Only truly stupid man would bother to debate Rush.

Is Rush back on drugs again?

I call BS.

What were some of his topics. and his positions. Be specific, I have access to the transcript.

He should not, and he will not. Obama is a politician, so it's a lose-lose for him.

What good would it really do? What would it prove?

Obama would be unlikely to change his position, and Rush certainly won't.

Debate is only useful if there is a measure of flexibility and a willingness to agree with logical truths when you hear them - on both sides.

Do you honestly think either of them would be willing to admit the opposing side might have some reasonable ideas? I can't imagine either of them doing so, which would turn it into nothing more than a spectacle for the hyper-partisan (who would then selectively point out bits from it to prove their side "won").
