I've been hearing about Gov. Jindal of Louisiana for quite some time now. He's been pegged by some as one of the 'rising stars' within the GOP and perhaps even a potential presidential contender in 2012 or beyond.

Up until tonight, I'd never really paid much attention to the man. Never heard him speak. Know little about his ideas or ideals. He's remained an unknown quantity. So I tuned in to the GOP rebuttal after Obama's speech tonight to see what he's all about.

I hate to admit this... but I switched the channel after the first two minutes. I found him so forced, so unappealing, so downright awful that I can't see how anyone could think he's presidential.

Was he having an off night? Is this the guy people have been giving rave reviews? What's going on?

He was horrendous.

The content of his character and his credentials for leadership and excellence are unrivalled. But his 'packaging' needs to be revamped.

He was awful. He needs a speech coach as he doesn't enunciate the ends of some words well. He is too sing-songy. Also, he was in an unnatural setting, a big empty cavernous room that had terrible acoustics. He had no live audience.

All that can and should be fixed. Face it, when it comes to matters of appearance and superficial aspects of presentation, liberals, more often, have the ticket.
