I think that raw gay enthusiasim is usally enough:

Wattie, the dude with the hawk, looks interesting, regardless of how you like to dress.

The Minor Threat guys just look like dudes. Boooring.

There are a few brands I have preference for. There's a couple local east coast ones that you basically have to live in the Jersey metro to know but I do like some "real" brands.

Fred Perry, Ben Sherman, Lonsdale, Levi (I really like vintage cut Levi 501s).

Actually do you know Johnny Cupcake? They're a pretty signficant Boston hipster T-shirt company that just expanded into LA.

They're ok...I mean I think they're more about really good marketing then anything else (I know plenty of better brands that haven't done as well) but they do some awesome stuf.

I also like Man Epic t-shirts, i think they're based out of San Fransisco.

They do t-shirts with prints of things like a big burly dude punching out a bear.

I've seen Man Epic stuff before. But you have to understand...I wasn't even really aware of fashion until recently.

And truthfully, my thing for Christian Audigier didn't happen till I walked into his store on Melrose and went ape **** buying his shirts.

I now own more Christian Audigier clothing worth more than my vehicle. I think I have a problem.

I'm not sure I would call cool t-shirts fashion. I own a ton and I like them and I do see them as some kind of street cred hipster status symbol but it's not like they're couture.

When I was a youngsta, teeshirts were only cool if you bought them at the actual show. Patches were cooler, because you could only buy them at the show (this was just before the era of internet mail-order stuff).
I knew a lot of crusty-punk guys who spent all their time high and sewing patches on their jackets and pants. Their pants were just patches on top of patches.

I am completely comfortable with myself and how I look.

I have always been extremely athletic and coordinated, and I was born lucky
(to my point of view).
6'2" 195 lbs lean and toned. I was a competitive track runner for over ten years.
Never really worked out, maybe some crunches or push ups here and there, but generally, I do sports.
Surfing, martial arts and mountain biking keep me going just fine.

I am more normal now, I guess. 37 and not quite as studly as I was ten years ago when I was in ridiculous shape. But I can still go for a hike at a moments notice and beat everyone to the top and I surf almost daily. We are gonna hike the local mountain next Sat. It is a good ten hour round trip hike, I have heard...

I don't mean band t-shirts or crust fashion I mean hipster artsy print shirts, like the Man Epic shirt I posted.

Yeah crust-fashion, while filthy, is really cool. It's a sort of return to original 80s punk fashion- no more hardcore guys wearing t-shirts and athletic shorts with addidas sneakers.

I think band t-shirts are acceptable to wear to shows, but otherwise they better be REALLY cool. There's a distressing number of goth girls wandering the world wearing faded ****ty Love Cats ts. I do own some band Ts that I wear around (I have a really bad ass Last Resort shirt I like a whole lot) but wearing nothing but band t-shirts is the realm of metal listening fat beards.

Physically, I'm pretty chill with being reasonably exposed just about anywhere. However, socially... I am something of a old-schooler when it comes to clothing, and I just can't help but feel akward when I'm not at a beach, or something with a similiar mentality, and either am, or see, someone without their shirt.

It's just akward... I always think Ben Stiller playing ball against that fat sweaty guy and then his face slams right into his sweaty chest. Whoever it is, that's all I can think about... Heh, weird, eh?

Interesting...I am 6'2" but used to be a very buff 220lbs. Now I am 38yrs and not so buff but still 220lbs. I am not just saying this but I too have always felt very lucky about my being more physically talented than most! I also felt lucky to easily do good in school when I wanted to, when so many others struggle. I grew up playing hockey and would have done more sports but I was more interested in spending my time doing outdoor/nature things.
I actually went through a phase where I wanted to live off the land in some mountains, but then I reached puberty and realized that is not where the chicks are!

No, but they set off a blazer and jeans when you get the right wash on them. I consider it fashion when worn right. In and of themselves, they aren't.

Here is a light topic (perhaps).

How do you feel about your own physical shape (figure for women, physique for guys).

Very bad, although improved the last few years with rigorous exercise, often daily for months, and at least even for slack periods an average of at least a few days a week. All because I didn't feel good in my body. Two years later with much less fat and much more muscles and a much darker tan I still do not feel confident about my body, even though its more fit than 95% of other people.
I live on a dry tropical island with loads of people walking around without shirts and in rather small shorts, and I do the same without feeling comfortable, yet I want to juice my body much more. Will it ever stop?

Still, when I started the rigorous diet and exercise program I wasn't very much overweight, just a little. Sometimes I envy the unfit and fat who seems so comfortable going around without shirts and their saggy bellies and man boobs.. Its weird.

I don't mind people seeing my body wherever. I work pretty hard on my body though so I like showing it off.

Hmm.. Actually I work hard on my body but I do not like people looking, actually it makes me feel uncomfortable.

The whole reason I started going again was because I was starting to get fat and I was tired all the time. I started working out really hard to feel better but, come to find out, it was a real health problem that had me feeling ****ty. I just kept working out though because I liked the way I was looking again.

I'm serious...hours of gym time per week is directly proportionate to the number of years younger you look. ;)

And if you go every day, you meet people and start doing things other than just boring weight routines with them. It becomes a social network after a few months.

You don't have to go to the gym. I do light workouts at home (dumbells, crunches, push ups) along with running, cycling, and swimming and most people tell me I look ten years younger than I am.

I do tae bo at home, with resistance bands. Also have a bowflex. Keeps me pretty goddamn sore.

I ****ing hate going to gyms. The last thing in the world I want to do is 'socialize' with a bunch of sweaty, stinky people.

I am with you. I hate gyms. I don't mind the pool so much - completely different crowd than the local gyms.

I go to the college pool to swim laps 3x a week too. The people there are cool, as opposed to any of the people I've met in gyms.

Dang, I will be so happy if I'm dancing at the Senior Center when I'm 70.
However, a psychic once told me that I'm going to die when I'm 54, which is only 20 years from now.

This actually happened to me. When I was in my 30s, I was at the State Fair and got my fortune told by a fortune teller at the fair.

She told me that I would die when I reached the age of 54, and I worried about that until I was 55. lol

Psychics stating that one will die in there 50's says more about the psychic than the person they are talking about....

I am what I am and thats all that I am. ;) (Pop quiz: anyone know who said that? :) )

I hate gyms too.. I prefer running outside, swimming in the ocean and doing some pull ups, push ups and sit ups and similar stuff at home.

Dont like the whole "getting ready for the gym" procedure.
A run and a swim in the morning followed by a few hundred of each "ups" and then perhaps some "ups" in the evening. Wakes you up completely and takes no effort at all.

Let's have some fun here. Let's vote on who has the best body.

There will be two categories--one for females and one for males.

All who are interested can post photos of themselves in bathing suits on this thread--up to 5 photos per person.

Later we can have two polls where we can choose the best body:

Best female body.

Best male body.
