Not sure. I was trying to figure out first how you can call yourself 'World Wide Legacy' when the only people who've heard of you are either in the U.S. or in U.S. websites....

I have never heard of this fellow. the poor man looks like he just got racked.....

I will have a more in depth answer to your on topic post tommorrow as I am winding down tonight and as soon as this report I am running now finishesh i am outa here.

What a short sighted poll...

Yes close it tommorrow... now what are you going to do with those who are housed there.....

did you think this one through my friend.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

As soon as we figure out what reasonable thing to do with those held captive then we can close Gitmo.

An innocent person held in Gitmo just might have a grudge ya think?

What was the lesson of MLK?

What was the lesson of Malcolm X?

Both managed to look beyond the circumstances of their incarcerations.

You do know that MLK used incarceration to get a point across while Malcolm X advocated violence to get his point across AFTER he got out of jail right? Please stick to copy and pasting stuff.

By freeing his mind while imprisoned Malcolm X said he'd never felt so free.

Dr. King continued his quest while in jail.

Anyone who was falsely imprisoned could free their minds and rise above their circumstances.

Hell yes close that down. It has done US no favours

SO you think that we do not have the ability to house them on military bases and prisons within the USA? Do you really think we're that weak? What are you afraid of?

So Rev...Keep it open or close it? I did not say close it tomorrow...you did. I said ASAP..Do you know what ASAP stands for?

They are military prisoners. Even in civilian life if a prison is proven to be using abusive practices you change the administration and the the practices. Not close the prison. There should be changes I agree but although this may upset some people I think it should be left to the politicians military and the Jstice dept to decide what changes need to be made because they who and why is/are being detained there.

I do think that the geneva convention should be applied though.

A really simple question:

Should Gitmo Be Closed?

If you vote yes you want it closed.

If you vote no you want it to remain open.

Yes or No...reveal yourself so we can all see who supports what, OK?

50 % yes , 50% no...The no`s have it. The people voteing yes will have their wish all to soon. Tis a new day dawning with all the potential of those days of liberal rule from 1992 thru 2000. Remember all the terror attacks under Bill Cliton. Terrorism and the rapid spread of Islams war lust.

Do you really wanna bet on this?

LOL - sure. 23 hour lock down. 1 hour of recreation. concrete floors, seats, beds etc. No contact with the outside world that doesn't involve a pane of glass between you and the other person. But hey guess what? No :

Hmm, I gave you one example, and you gave me one example. Is this representative of example of the norm?

Yes, I think it should. As soon as they can redirect the prisoners and start their trials, they should close it as soon as they can.

Awesome. Now where would you have these savages go?

Give them a trial and if the evidence is there, jail them. Otherwise release them.
Now, im personally of the opinion US should take them all but ... i don't think that is possible.

Really? Can you show me in the history of warfare where war prisoners were released during the prosecution of a war?

So you would rather continue torturing them until Iraq is over? Keeping them imprisoned for years?

Shall we be thankful McCain didn't win then? In Iraq for 100 years indeed

Lets say we wait until Iraq is over.
When they are found innocent, how much do you think US Govt. should pay them for reparations?

Nothing. War is hell. You get over it.

I would have rather had 16 years of Clinton than 8 of Bush. Say what you want about Clinton but it was the Clinton military that went into Afghanistan.

Not Bush. By that I mean the military that Clinton policies built and maintained. Bush simply used it. The Coalitions that Bush built were made possible by the good will that Clinton garnered for the US. Bush simply frittered all that away. Clinton was a respected politician around the world. Bush is seen as bumbling fool. Even during the blow job scandal he had more support from world leaders and people overseas than he did at home. Nelson Mandela even spoke for him. Could you see Mandela speaking for George Bush with his humans rights record? I do believe that if Clinton were president for the last 8 years we would not be be up to our neck in Iraq with another generation of PTSD victims.

Clinton policies actually produced positive results in Bosnia and Kosovo. Saddam was contained. We were building a relation ship of trust in the middle east. One time Arab antagonists were slowly changing their long held stances against Israel. Economic surpluses. yeah that damn Clinton he really screwed up the country.

Torture is happening in there regardless so you would rather they continue being locked up in that hell for a few more years until US finally withdraws from Iraq? Why should they suffer for US's lack of morality

FBI files detail Guantánamo torture tactics | World news | guardian.co.uk

Captives at Guantánamo Bay were chained hand and foot in a fetal position to the floor for 18 hours or more, urinating and defecating on themselves, an FBI report has revealed.
The accounts of mistreatment were contained in FBI documents released yesterday (pdf) as part of a lawsuit involving the American Civil Liberties Union, a civil liberties group.

Besides being shackled to the floor, detainees were subjected to extremes of temperature. One witness said he saw a barefoot detainee shaking with cold because the air conditioning had bought the temperature close to freezing.

The "sick guards" are US troops you know...

Do you have anything current or are you going with a few isolated incidents?
