A really simple question:

Should Gitmo Be Closed?

If you vote yes you want it closed.

If you vote no you want it to remain open.

Yes or No...reveal yourself so we can all see who supports what, OK?

Tell ya what. Why don't you tell us why you favor/dont favor Gitmo's closing. ;) More people are normally more inclined to answer polls if they know exactly where you're trying to go with it.

I think there has been more than enough revealed about Gitmo over the years that almost anyone already has an opinion that can be summarized in "YES" or "NO."

Let me ask you something? What argument would you make to keep it open?

Evasion.

And I never said that I wanted to keep it open. Nor did I say that I wanted to close it.

What a short sighted poll...

Yes close it tommorrow... now what are you going to do with those who are housed there.....

did you think this one through my friend.

I think all the people who wanted Gitmo closed should start a fund to find housing and jobs for all the prisoners and be responsible for their actions.

What a short sighted poll...

SO you think that we do not have the ability to house them on military bases and prisons within the USA? Do you really think we're that weak? What are you afraid of?

So Rev...Keep it open or close it? I did not say close it tomorrow...you did. I said ASAP..Do you know what ASAP stands for?

Wait, so you want to give them base housing now? mix em up among the military families?

Or are you saying put them in gen pop at some super max prison where they wouldn't last a week...

Would you require a trial first? and if found not guilty because some lib whined about the volume of the bon jovi music and thier host country refused to take them back, where would you have them go?

oh so you didn't mean immediatly.... so when is "as soon as possible"..... i would argue we are doing just that.

Excuse me, but why would you want to take them from one prison and put them in another? Why not just leave them at Gitmo?

Move them to super max security U.S. prisons? If we're doing nothing illegal that we wouldn't do to American prisoners then I see no reason why we wouldn't or couldn't. Unless....

Gen pop at a Super Max? Is that a joke?

Should Gitmo Be Closed ASAP?

Hell no.

But why not run the poll after some of the released detainees kill innocent people or US or Coalition soldiers.

Are you kidding me? they would be slaughtered in gen-pop.

It seems to me that closing Gitmo is nothing more than rearranging the furniture to please some moonbats. So we take them out of Gitmo and place them in another prison. What does that accomplish?

 i dunno, the wife likes the prison A&E stuff. I only half listen.....

is there any contact?

oh wait...

Inmate Beaten to Death at Supermax - TalkLeft: The Politics Of Crime

From the blog :

Prison staff and medical personnel tried for about 20 minutes to resuscitate Torrez, but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Fremont County Coroner Dorothy Twellman says Torrez endured a "vicious" beating, suffering severe injuries to his face, neck and chest. It's the first alleged killing of a prisoner at the hands of other inmates in Supermax history.

If in the history of Supermax prisons in America there has only been ONE murder, even though they house the most dangerous gang members, mob bosses etc etc what exactly makes you think that the contact is sufficient enough that they'd get 'slaughtered'? Thanks for providing enough ammo to blow your silly argument down.

so how do they avoid this?

my bet is the treatment is harsher than they get at gitmo.

go ahead you post supermax conditions and ill to gitmo... or we can switch it up.....

The idea of moving them out of Gitmo is to bring them to a place where US laws would apply to them so they would have to be tried.

But because some of them have cases that wouldn't stand up to the rules of judicial procedure these detainees would be released.

The left lives for the day when they can show how principled they are by releasing these dangerous terrorists into some neighborhood near you. Just as long as they aren't released in any of those liberal's neighborhoods.

And if they are released overseas and make it back to the battlefield and kill innocents or troops the liberals don't care because innocents are political footballs to be used for gain and none of the liberals or their friends are in the military.

Sixth level security.

Military documents show that Mr. Qahtani’s repeated interrogations at Guantánamo in 2002 and 2003 included prolonged isolation, sleep deprivation, forced nudity, exposure to cold and involuntary grooming. He was also forced to dance with a male interrogator and to obey dog commands, including “stay,” “come” and “bark.”

A Pentagon inquiry in 2005 found that the methods were “degrading and abusive.”

In a statement Tuesday night, the Pentagon said that more than a dozen prior investigations had concluded that the interrogations were lawful.

“However, subsequent to those reviews,” the statement said, “the department adopted new and more restrictive policies and improved oversight procedures for interrogation and detention operations.”

Do you really wanna bet on this?

go ahead you post supermax conditions and ill to gitmo... or we can switch it up.....

LOL - sure. 23 hour lock down. 1 hour of recreation. concrete floors, seats, beds etc. No contact with the outside world that doesn't involve a pane of glass between you and the other person. But hey guess what? No :

An innocent person held in Gitmo just might have a grudge ya think?

Not in Bhkad's world. Which is kind of like Wayne's World. Only with even more sizzurp.

Not sure. I was trying to figure out first how you can call yourself 'World Wide Legacy' when the only people who've heard of you are either in the U.S. or in U.S. websites....
