What I mean by that is this; Do you find yourself bringing up politics out of nowhere, or when it doesn't pertain to said topic?

Examples;

*Soldier committs suicide b/c his wife divorced him.

-Answer,well if the Republicans would end this war, he would have never killed himself. Ignoring that said Soldier has never even been to a war zone.

*Man with goes on a shooting rampage

-Answer, well if it wasn't for the libby's someone there would have had a gun and killed him.


*Gay woman gets raped for being gay(has happened)

-Answer, well if it wasn't for conservative bigots, this would have never happened

*Boy gets suspended for fist fighting at school, and swearing at his teacher.

-Answer, well if Democrats focused on family first, we wouldn't have any latch key kids, and kids would never act out in such a way.
 
You would have to define politically obsessed first since those examples practically have politics involved in them. I typically dont go and play the hysterical blame game.

-Answer, well if it wasn't for the libby's someone there would have had a gun and killed him.A toughie; the man should have failed a physiological test in order to obtain the weapons in the first place; but this may not work.. We do have too much "gun mentality" in our nation..


*Gay woman gets raped for being gay(has happened)

-Answer, well if it wasn't for conservative bigots, this would have never happenedHatred and intolerance are not the exclusive property of any group.
Also, the homosexual can do things to ease the situation..

*Boy gets suspended for fist fighting at school, and swearing at his teacher.

In most instances, there is a political connection, and further, sometimes related to a political party....
These are problems, the solution, if any, is not necessarily political..
 
I can talk about politics pretty much anywhere, but I never pull the "well if libs didn't..." or "If it weren't for those damned conservatives...." lines out of my ass. I try to remain intelligent when I discuss politics, not simply attack any opposing view.
 
I've been known to blame liberals when my steak isn't done just right.....:2razz:

I do not do this, but I know some who do and it irritates the heck out of me.

These are good reasons why so many people are concerned with politics. I, along with most other people, would like to live without having to consider politics with most everyday life. But political power mongers keep meddling into private matters they should leave strictly alone.

If we really thought about it, we couild get along far better if we eliminated about nine tenths of all government actions, programs and projects.
 
I am way to in to politics. It's especially bad when I get really drunk. I don't shut up about it.
 
Once, when I was making love to an asian woman, I asked her to talk about how big my election was.


I don't know if that counts as politically obsessed, though.
 
Well, I talk about politics a lot, but I don't talk much with strangers; I only talk to the same few people every day, and all of them talk about politics a lot, too.
I tend to talk more about domestic and social issues, because that's what i know about.
I don't really expound upon global politics, because I don't know anything about it. I ask other people questions about it sometimes.
