Gaza: what's going to happen?

what's going to happen in Gaza?

I disagree. It's all going to be about who owns the land. Even without the religious divide the Palestinians will still want their own country and Israel still won't want to give it to them.

Well, Israel is actually one of the very few countries that are "certified" by history as belonging to a certain people. They only actually took back what has always been described as theirs(at least for 5000 years), meaning that someone invaded them. Not many other countries can claim the same as Jews can about Israel...

Just in all actual fairness the west bank at least belongs to Israel, Israel which is suppose to be from the Mediterranean to the Jordan rivers and the inland oceans. Gaza has ALWAYS been a conflict spot, and I do not think it has ever been recognized as a part of Israel, rather having been described in old scriptures as a place of resistance. Correct me if I am wrong.

Israel is tiny.. Palestinians came from Egypt(and Syria) in the first place and invaded parts of Israel, why not give them a small part of Egypt(and Syria) instead, problem solved. Egypt is a huge country.

I thought the Palestinians were mostly Jordanian?

I liked your solution, it's to bad neither side will agree to it.

Ahh, sorry, the Palestinians on the west bank as far as I knew were Syrians(at least they were the one who invaded Israel a long time ago, and as far as I know stayed), but they are probably a mix or Syrians and Jordanians(and others).
The ones on Gaza are definetely Egyptians.

What claims do the Palestinians have on parts of Israel as according to history? They were invaders...

Probably there will never be a solution, and the fighting will go on. For Israel the only solution would be to decide once for all to drive the Palestinians out. If they do not, everything will continue like it has been. If the Egyptians and Jordanians/Syrians do not give small parts of their huge countries to the Palestinians that is.

OK. I remember reading someplace that they were mostly Jordanians. I don't have enough info to make a definitive statement as to there origin one way or the other.

Thanks.

I am not sure either. I just know that Syrians(ancient) invaded Israel and stayed there.. West bank is neighboring Jordan though. Its probably most accurate to ask Israelis or people from the neighbouring countries.

Thats whats happening all the time. You could just as well show a picture of a white Israeli like that instead of being so partial. ;)

I believe he's just being "proportional", his 500th will show an Israeli!

I just think that some people are so distanced from war that it almost seems like a fairy tale to them. The use of images has a tendency to ground said individuals.

I know quite a lot about war. I hate the people you are talking about, those are the people who are usually most eager to wage war, as part of their ignorance towards what it really is.

I am biased too.. But only because Israel is one of the few countries that have been "certified" to belong to a people. Palestinians were the first invaders!

Precisely. Most of the people I talk to have no idea why Israelis and Palestinians are fighting. They just know that Israel is the "good guy" and the Palestinians are "terrorists". The lack of a desire to think for one's self in this country is truly mind blowing.

I am kind of a "flip flopper" on this issue with fluctuating opinions based on what the "current" situation is, but partly biased towards Israel because I recognize their rights to their land.
I do however not believe Palestinians are terrorists at all, but normal people who just want a place to live, and a stable situation, I understand their anger and frustration.

The problem is that Israel will not destroy Hamas (due to politics), which is what they need to do. They need to be deadly and ruthless and relentless, because regardless the MSM will attack them.

Palestinians have a choice, and they choose to have Hamas live amongst them digging tunnels and setting up rocket batteries. They know the consequences before the first rocket is fired. Israel has responded the same way for 60 years. Where's the surprise?

The MSM attacks Israel? What channel do you watch?

Because he will be dead, a casualty of the ridiculous war between two headstrong and ignorant factions? Sure.

Cause mommy and daddy didn't move out when terrorists started launching rockets into Israel.

Right. I'm sure you would just pick up, leaving friends and extended family behind? It's so easy to assimilate into another country's culture, right?

Moving from Gaza to Egypt would be like an American moving to Canada. Not that much different. And you tell me if having your children alive is worth leaving friends and family behind.
