What? Somalia was a hell hole ruled by war lords... how is that the USA fault?
We went in to distribute aid with the United Nations.
At the same time, we went after the war lords to stop the fighting and so
that the people would recieve the aid, instead of the war lords taking it and wharehousing it.

The whole Black Hawk Down thing ensued and we left due to public pressure.

How is not going in with aid and a solution not a great thing?
The USA is not responsible for Somalias continued degradation and you know it.

Well, I have no idea, but certainly the US intervention didnt help. They werent the most failed state in the world before the intervention, its probably not BECAUSE of the US involvement they are now, but the US involvement wasnt a great thing, because they ARE the world most failed state now.

Right, but we tried and people gave us **** over it, THAT is the point, not the state of affairs in Somolia now.

Yes, well, perhaps you tried, but you didnt try hard enough obviously, so the attempt is irrelevant really, especially considering how affairs are in Somalia now.
