If there’s very little hope of winning in November, this line of logic goes, may as well cause as much chaos as possible. When a crowded room is full of smoke, foul play is much easier to pull off.

But Trump has had a proclivity for upending the traditions of American governance even when the economy was soaring and his re-election seemed all but assured. That started with the firing of former FBI chief James Comey in 2017 and on to the firing of Geoffrey Berman, the Manhattan US attorney who was investigating Trump’s inner circle.

Why else would he have trusted President Vladimir Putin more than Washington’s intelligence community, when they warned about Russia’s election interference? Why else would he have defended President Xi Jinping’s assurances that China had the coronavirus under control?

I think Trump and his cronies are the biggest threat to American democracy. If Trump acted as he did during a soaring economy, imagine how much damage he will do the next 3 months?

The rise of China - particularly the Chinese Communist Party running the country - is the biggest threat facing a free world. As an example, just look at the third of your options: covid-19. The failures of China to both mitigate the risks that brought about the virus (also largely a culture issue) and then the Party's deliberate attempts to cover up its early spread have turned a local health problem into a full-blown pandemic.

You can add to this further such examples as their move on owning international water, suppressing even small amounts of democracy, imprisoning ethnic minorities in what cannot be described as anything other than concentration camps, and leveraging their developing technology for surveilling citizens of other countries.

America can survive 4 or 8 years of Trump. It (and every other country on earth) will not do so well faced with generations of unchecked rise of a commu-authoritarian superpower bent on subjecting all the world to its will.

I am hearing a lot of attacks against the left. Do you really believe the left are terrorists are a greater national security threat than Trump?

Given the way you're treating this whole instance. I think the only one lacking moral conscience in this instance, is you. Because you're somehow managing to overlook everything that played into all of this and are just dead set on focusing this attention on Trump. No matter who suffers in the process.

Even if he wins the election President Trump's power will have evaporated over the next couple of years. Nothing so feeble as a lame duck .

And that's what it's all about anymore. Whatever side is president Congress makes them a lame duck. The right did it to Obama and the left are doing it to Trump. It's rather quite disgusting. Nothing is more important than the party and getting the other party out of power ASAP.
 
It's important to remember that the reason the US is the richest and freest country in the world is because we have never had a true left wing government in power.

It only took one generation for Chavez to destroy Venezuela, and Cuba has a been a basket case ever since Bernie Sanders' hero took over in 1959.

COVID and China are the same threat. Why are they listed separately?

Oh, right. If people blame the actual individuals responsible for this pandemic, Biden might lose.
