No problem, was just coming back in to say its not a big deal. I can understand being skeptical of it. I generally am of such thigns as well. It just seemed you were being way over the top in regards to it and, while I generally often disagree with Dirtpoorchris, it felt like he was getting an unfair shake on that and found it espicially ironic considering Ethereals post.

I don't think it was your intent, but it just felt like he was getting beat with a stick completley undeservingly.

Yeah i see that. I started tempering my posts before you came in... ;)

Nah. Bush deserved to have a shoe thrown at him about 3-5 years ago. Now it just seems like harassing an old guy on the verge of retirement.

Fascinating, Bush deserves to have shoes thrown at him because you don't like his politics or policies. I guess if we don't like Obama's we can throw shoes at him?

Why are liberal extermists so angry and hateful? It's a genuine question...what fuels this classless demeanor?

Have you ever tried to have a genuine discussion with a Liberal extremist over a controversial issue and had one NOT try to shout you down or insult you? :rofl

You know I lived in West Sonoma County, Sebastopol, for a long time...
That place is the hippy hotbed of extreme Liberalism and I would get dirty looks and rolling eyes but dirty looking, jobless rich kids driving 1982 Volvos with their dreds and Marley shirts simply because I would wear button down shirts. Seriously.

After they got to know me, and realized that I could and would debate circles around them in person, I would get shouted down... literally shouted down. It was amazing. This happened with dozens of the hippiest. Many of my wifes friends didn't like me, since I simply had opposing views.

What is the most amazing part is, that they were supposed to be the open and loving people and I was supposed to be the hateful and oppressive conservative. It was, in fact, quite the opposite. Agree with them or you are an enemy. Disagree with a Conservative, at least in my experience, and they will rationally challenge you or let it go.

Pity the show missed that murdering war mongers head, is all I can say. If he killed my family and friends, I'd throw more than a shoe.

It's a pity to see you engage in inane assertions about murdering war mongers. I guess you missed all the war mongering efforts by Saddam whom we deposed and the war mongering terrorists who tried to do everything they could to thwart peaceful Democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. I guess you also missed that the US is trying to promote peaceful Democracy in the region and it is OTHERS who want to maintain the murderous war mongering.

What is profound about such statements is the vacuum of reality it requires.

Bush is responsible for thousands upon thousands of deaths and some feel he does not even desereve to be hit with a shoe? What does this say about some folks thinking? :(

Wrong; but it is typical among those who are uninformed. The people responsible are the thugs, despots and terrorists who blow up police stations, mosques and markets in an effort to prevent peace from occurring.

It's quite inane to blame Bush for the actions of terrorists, but denial seems to be a Liberal forte' these days.

Think about what you just said to me and think about what your comment says about a man that has sent thousands of our own off to die in a useless war. Just how civilized is Bush? :doh

What irony to see you lecture someone about "thinking" based on the comments you make.

He deserves more than shoes. If it was my family that was killed, the thing i'd throw would be much harder and bigger ...
Should it be chucked at him whilst he's representing US? No.
I hope after he steps down from office his life is made hell tbh.

Yes, far easier to blame Bush for the deaths rather than the people actually doing the killing; you know, those despicable thugs, terrorists and despots whom you want to ignore and place all blame on America and Bush. After all, why blame them for their actions right? It's much better to blame a man trying to do the RIGHT thing and ignore the murderous thugs who want to create an Islamic terror center in the ME.

When I see illogical and uninformed comments like this, it truly is apparent to me that our educations systems have failed us.

I don't think Bush deserved that. I feel bad too because everytime I see the clip, I find myself laughing.

Hey, Bush laughed at it too; don't feel bad. Good thing he held the Secret Servicemen back instead of letting them nail this guy. But that is the kind of man Bush is. Not the cowardly sniping type who stick their fingers up to gauge popular opinion before he can make a decision.

I think a lot of people share a fair amount of blame. I don't think it's right to place the blame solely on the despicable thugs and terrorists because our men and women wouldn't be in that position in the first place if not for our leader ordering them into that position. It is part and parcel to being a leader with such power that you accept responsibility for your decisions whether they be good or bad. That is what makes a good leader. I don't think anyone is saying that a lot of blame doesn't lie with the despicable thugs and terrorists, though I could be wrong.

The only way to really know would be to poll actual and recent vets. Neither of you really know if its a waste or not. Why not ask the ones doing it? So far more people I've met that are related to anything militairy think its all a waste more than a help.

Seriously? I'm in the military and have never met one person who thought it was a waste. I know a guy who lost both his legs and wishes he could go back.

Once again you appear confused, Bush didn't "dodge" the draft; but thank you for illustrating why Liberals seem to love a lie.

I knew this would come up eventually. First of all, I was making a joke..get a sense of humor. Secondly, a lot of people accuse Bush of dodging the draft, but a lot of people also accuse Clinton, Cheney, Biden, etc. for the same thing.

I am sorry; my guess is that if you are going to make a joke, it should be funny? :2wave:

Humor isn't a universal language and differs from person to person. I found it funny so I posted it. Trust me, you weren't my intended audience.

I've not problem whatsoever with this. It's hardly the most nuanced form of political protest, but if a foreign agressor bombed and invaded the US, killing your friends and loved ones, and one of your own responded by chucking a shoe, I suspect you'd find it hard to muster any outrage.

I find this analogy idiotic and based in ignorance because in order for it to have any credence, one would have to believe that Americans threaten their neighbors with invasion and terrorism.

Of course that is absurd just like this analogy so I guess giving you THIS much attention is also absurd.

Carry on; denial leads to ignorance, don't do denial.

Of course you would feel the same way if it were Obama?

No, Obama hasn't been a complete asshole in office for 8 years. Ask me again after Obama has been in office and earned it.

Wow, it's like he was imitating Jon Stewart imitating George Bush.

And to answer the question, yes, he absolutely deserves to have shoes thrown at him everywhere he goes. If there was any justice in the world, he would be be bitten by children and peed on by dogs for the rest of his life. He needn't be punished with a Michael Bay kind of vengeance, but rather just a...sad...existence.

All because you don't like his politics; imagine a world where EVERYONE behaved like dolts, acted out their stupidity like this and thought like you do?

Once more these kinds of comments are proof that our education system is an abject failure and that we have become childish narcissistic mindless individuals wallowing in our own pathetic ignorance.

I do not do it anymore but I had one vet bawling almost after talking to him for a while. He didn't open up for a while but then admited that most of it was all bull**** and really ****ed up and made no sense what so ever. He felt incredibly duped by his own government. I could almost sense it. Almost like he felt evil because of the whole thing. I felt really bad for him. He ended the conversation with "Its up to people like you to tell um all."

And this means what, exactly?

"Stop the presses! Extra-extra! Read all about it! Disillusioned war vet confides in dirtpoorchris!"

We keep forgetting what terrible president that he is. He invaded Iraq for no reason and many thousands of Iraqi citizens have died for no reason.

I am glad they were shoes instead of Bullets. I don't want Bush assassinated, only sent to prison.

Wrong again; but this typifies the angry left and their hate of Bush. We had definite and legitimate reasons to invade Iraq and thousands of Iraqi's died and were dying because thug’s terrorists and despots don't want Democracy in the region.

You just don’t like Bush because in your empty hate filled world anyone who doesn’t agree with your pacifist views should be imprisoned; you remind me of the very people who are doing the killing. The only difference is they have the balls to be honest about their beliefs and instead of putting their opponents in prison they kill them.

Only someone arguing in a vacuum of facts and reality can make such profoundly and constant ignorant arguments.

How so? I asked a general question about the extremists from your side, and based that off the anger I see here in this thread. You proceeded to be angry and hateful and when I pointed that out, you call me ignorant?

One has to be ignorant to suggest that Bush and Cheney are guilty of any crimes while murderious terrorist thugs attempt to prevent the Iraqi people from self Government.

Are all these people guilty of the same "perceived" crime as well?

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 | Source

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 | Source

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 | Source

"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."

- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 | Source

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998 | Source

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 | Source

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 | Source

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 | Source

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 | Source

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 | Source

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 | Source

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 | Source

I might be wrong, but what from I saw of the video, his bodyguards ran in from another room just as he'd ducked the second shoe. Why weren't they right there wth him, knowing that he was giving a speech in place with a lot of hostile feeling towards the US?

Another fascinating statement in a vacuum of reality; ONE moron stands up and throws his shoes at the President and you make it sound like all of them were hostile. I guess you missed the part where other journalists stepped in to stop this retard.

Liberals have a fascinating and distorted view of reality and facts.

Hey dood,

The $700 billion bailout is your buddy Bush's idea, along with that other liar Paulson! Read the papers much?

That's amusing, I guess you missed the part where your guy Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are also for it.

We should not blindly respect someone simply based on whatever postion they may hold in our country.

You ALWAYS show respect for the office regardless of your personal feelings. If everyone acted as childish as you would, the world would be a bitter place indeed.

I guess you are okay when people will show disrespect for Obama because they disagree with his policies? Or is this just another Liberal double standard?
