Does bush deserve to have a shoe thrown at him?

Do you think Bush should be hit with a shoe.

What total B.S. You called me a liar and even came back after I posted a link and again called me liar! I see you are not a man so I am done with this thread. You are eating crow and owe me.

Bodhi, I am still waiting for you to ask me to marry you!

:rofl

Nice. That was the chronology of our interaction sweetie. Deal with it.
It is not BS. It is simply fact. You are whining for no reason... that is your deal.
I was talking nicely to everybody and then you came along with this:

How is that BS? :rofl

Sorry, I am not in the mood to play, "As the Hypocrite Turns" lately...
You are not a liar. Is this inaccurate?
I said you were and then I took it back and acknowledged that you weren't.
Was this the wrong thing to do then?

You already broke my heart once. :(
I can never look at cheeze whiz the same way.

Is that your way of saying you are sorry? If so? You do a crappy job and now trying to call my a hypocrite? I do not take kindly to being called a liar!

I know how to say that I am sorry for something... ;)

You were not lying. I am not sure why I need to apologize.
It was a miscommunication where I stated that you were either lying or Bush was an idiot.
You didn't lie, Bush is an idiot. End of story.

The hypocrite thing is also a fact.
You came in and made insultive remarks to me.
It asked for evidence and said that if you didn't have it, you were a liar.
If you did have it, then that only concludes that Bush is an idiot.
You posted the info, I read it and you were right, so... you did not lie.
NOW... you want an apology even though you made insultive remarks.
You won't apologize for doing that, something that is obvious.
But you want me to apologize? ;)

Again, it is NOT about blindly respecting "folks", it is about having respect for the Exective Office of the United States of America.

Would you suggest that courtesy be shown to ALL and EVERY leader, in ALL and EVERY country, or is just a nationalistic thing with you and America?

Paul.

Not just America and not just leaders.

The Office of the President of the United States is an Institution.
It is the Office that should be respected, not the individual.
That being said, throwing a shoe at an individual that represents that
Office is disrespecting the Office and NOT just the individual.

Hell, I don't respect Bush, but I certainly respect the Office.
I respect the Chinese Office of President, the British Monarchy and PM.
Congress, The Japanese Diet, the New Zealand Parliament,
The Iranian Office of President, all sorts of Institutions and Offices.

I may not respect the individuals though... for example, the Iranian Pres.

To me, it is about maintaining respect for authority to a degree, but more
importantly, it is about keeping the promise of the best possible government
a reality. If we turn the Office of the President into a sideshow, then nobody
will respect a great President when and if one gets elected.

A great president/leader has to earn respect, its does not come with the job.

Going off on a slight tangent i would "respect" the assassination of president Mugabe any day of the week. Then hopefully someone more befitting can save there country from despair.

Paul.

I am not sure why I am not being heard on this one...
You are the second or third to not understand what I am saying... :(

I am not sure how to present my position any more clearly...
I am DIFFERENTIATING between the person and the Office... :2razz:

I am NOT talking about respecting a leader.
I AM talking about respecting the Institution.

Bush is not Mugabe either... they are not comparable.
No US President has ever been comparable with a two-bit dictator.

Hence the word Tangent. I fully comprehend your opinion, but with that sort of ideology you give them a protective shield to do as they please. So i hope you understand where i,m coming from?

Paul.

Oooops... I breezed right over that "tangent" comment.

I don't think that they deserve any protective shield.
If they break a law, fry 'em. Seriously...

BUT, it should be done professionally. We should use the law to get them. To allow, or even support shoe throwing... Well, that is a step away from lawlessness and mob rule, negating the value of government or laws in general.
