No contrary to argument people are capable of defending themselves even without guns. There is of course the criminal element who will get access to guns irrespective of the laws and in that case I'm not certain bringing a knife to a gun fight is feasible.

Not just that. A gun to a single civilian is an equalizer. You are one against many and the gun gives you "many". In my case I've got 20 friends backing me up when I walk out the door... You just won't see them untill the occasion calls for such measures. (See Below)

Also appropriately compare population. Key factor when pitting America against ________ methinks.

Either way, we can not reasonably remove guns from everyone, so our only option is to... I dunno... abide by the rules our country was founded on?

England's rate of violent crime was much lower BEFORE they started banning guns. In the USA there are more guns NOW than there were in the 60's and yet our rates of violent crime are LOWER. Indeed, white american rates of gun violence are now lower than English rates of white gun violence and has been the case every year since the UK banned handguns.

There are far more guns in the US today than 35-40 years ago, and yet the crime rates, including the crime rates involving guns, are roughly the same.

If more guns = more crime, why havent the crimes rates jumped?
 
If the problem is the people who are pulling the trigger, and I think that it is too. We need to get rid of guns so they don't have no darn triggers to pull.

I am a gun owner and this is the only logical answer.

Thanks for clarifying my choice and making it easy. I love my guns and enjoy them the was tiger woods enjoys golf, but If we need to save lives, then our guns have to go.

People would still die from violent crimes, but there would not be many drive by stabbings.

I agree. People kill people. yet what are those things that they shoot bullets with? They are called Guns, and some stupid people use guns to kill other people. Since we are not going to execute half of the USA, then maybe guns have to be taken from hands of people who kill people.

It is the missuse of spoons that makes people fat. Frankly I can't see a corrlation between the spoons and Guns. We use spoons to feed ourselves and our children and we use guns to kill ourselves and our children.

I own 7 hand guns and 3 shotguns, and 4 hunting rifles. I would give them up to save my children's and my grandchildren's lives from being shot by People who Kill people.

Maybe the Primary thing that we need to do, is disarm people who kill people.

People who bother to get a concealed-carry permit do not pull out their guns and shoot police officers.

The primary problem with firearms is a society that has been conditioned to fear them.
How many people wouldn't take a second look or extra notice if a person was walking around with a pistol on their hip in the open?
But yet we live in a country where the right to keep and bear arms is protected by our founding documents.
I don't know how or when our country became fearful of a person with a gun but we need to get over it.

A car is made for transportation. Now and then some one runs over someone on purpose and committs murder with cars.

A gun is made for killing!!!!! and target practice. so what you are saying is that you would rather have members of your family killed in drive bys or murders than control guns???? I love my guns but not as much as my grand children..

Having a gun enables you to love your grand children on Earth. If someone or a group of people want brake into your house and trade some lives for goods.


Repeat after me:

Cops will not save you from murderous men.

A phone will not save you from murderous men. It will just record your death in a 911 call.

A camera will not save you from murderous men. It will just record your death in a youtube video.

A knife could save you from murderous men. Unless they had a gun.

A gun could save you from murderous men. Just ask any of the souls that made it to heaven via plane on 9/11.

One of the major problems the anti-gun side has is their inability to create a rational argument against the right to keep and bear arms.
Your post does nothing to change this.

Not that I am complaining, of course.

Untill someone comes up with a way to completely strip the country of all arms period (which I still will never ever agree with) there is no way to "get rid of the guns so they dont have triggers to pull".

If you give yours up and tell your neighbor he/she has to as well, do you think he/she gives a rats ass what you think or say? The simple answer is no. No one that wants to get a gun cares what you say or think. They do however care if you have a gun yourself, and knowing that you don't I would think you would be target #1 to anyone with one.

I'm not sure discharging a firearm inside an aircraft is at all advisable; mightn't it cause problems with pressurization?
