New Name For DC Football

I kinda like the "Renegades".

It also allows the franchise to keep using the popular stylized R.
 
"The Washington Outsiders"-Because white people living in D.C. are inordinately obsessed with wanting to trash D.C., yet become rabid D.C. sports fans.

Why would anybody want to call a team the Redtails? I can imagine a lot of Freudian slips with that one.

It may be a PC move, but their name actually IS a racial slur. Other teams named after particular tribes don't suffer the same problem. And while many PC movements have chosen to remove Native American names from teams, this particular move isn't as bad as that since their name is an actual racial slur.

The "move" is not being driven by general, local or even Native American public opinion - it is being driven by sponsorship money, as are many (if not most) things in DC.

Well yeah. I mean, the NBA essentially kowtowed to China because of money too. Dollars before conviction, it's the Corporate Way.

The name of the state Oklahoma (Red people) is actually a slur until people get up in arms about changing that I think the Redskins should stay
