Do you think it wise for Trump to ban our leading expert on infectious diseases during a pandemic?

Someone who profits by success rather than failure as a career.

So why do you support Trump? He's made billions from bankruptcy, and he's raked it in so far from his abject failure as president.

Or is this just another quip pulled from the library in a ludicrous attempt to make your assessment of what makes an expert valid?

Wise and Trump parted ways a while back.

What I do find disturbing is that he can't even wrangle his own team or himself well enough to avoid publicly disagreeing over policy. Almost daily his own medical frontman contradicts him, and he doesn't even seem to understand he is bickering with himself. He can't even manage to STFU so as not to appear foolish, after numerous incidents.

Trump doesn't even go through the motions to appear to have a handle on things.

Exactly when did Fauci become, "our leading expert on infectious diseases"?

This is what I have never understood. They call him a "National treasure". I don't get it.

He's a little sissy passive aggressive poodle. He doesn't say anything substantive. "Wash your hands" "Wear your mask" "If something isn't done we are gonna have a lot of cases". This country needed a pit pull expert who came out and screamed "danger!". Instead, he tippy toed through the warnings while making sure not to anger the President.

The CDC is mostly to blame for the disaster we are in. Trump has made it worse.

BTW. If you have trouble sleeping, put on a recording of Dr. Redfield speaking before you go to bed.

LOL! Better than Ambien!

IMO, The Chinese are mostly to blame for the pandemic. The WHO and CDC are tied for 2nd place. State governors and health boards are in 3rd. Trump, and the inevitable politicization that happens whenever he opines about anything is in 4th place.

How is the CDC at fault? They can't force people to social distance; they can't even make laws.

Great example of reflexive trumpism.

Nice work.

now that is a level of dunning kruger bull**** that has rarely been attained around here. The projection is also world class.

Yes, yes it is. But of course, that's the liberal way. Can you name a single thing Fauci has been correct about? Just one. I'll wait. But not for too long.

He tells the truth and the truth is Trump's enemy. Thing is the good doctor is still being sought out for interviews and advice whether trump likes it or not. In the end the Doctor will still around when trump gets kicked out of the Oval Office.

Leading expert? Please. He has been wrong every step of the way, and blatantly political. He's lucky he hasn't been fired.

What specifically did he get wrong? Keep in mind there was a great deal of unknowns with CV19 at the beginning. Like how was it spreading. Yes, Dr Fauci's recommendations have changed over time as more is known about the virus.

What did Trump say many months ago, (paraphrased), "it will soon be down to 0 cases", "it will magically disappear"

My question is if Fauci is as bad as you claim, why didn't Trump fire him months ago?

1984 actually...

Dr. Fauci was appointed director of NIAID in 1984. He oversees an extensive portfolio of basic and applied research to prevent, diagnose, and treat established infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, tuberculosis and malaria as well as emerging diseases such as Ebola and Zika. NIAID also supports research on transplantation and immune-related illnesses, including autoimmune disorders, asthma and allergies. The NIAID budget for fiscal year 2020 is an estimated $5.9 billion.

Dr. Fauci has advised six presidents on HIV/AIDS and many other domestic and global health issues. He was one of the principal architects of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved millions of lives throughout the developing world.

Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. | NIH: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

That only makes him the director of a sub-agency of a larger agency of the HHS department. Who annointed him, "our leading expert on infectious diseases"?

And why the odd possessive pronoun, "our"? Does the federal government own him? I thought slavery was unconstitutional.

Who else has more expertise in contagious infectious disease?

You think the head of NIH does? He’s not even trained in infectious disease.

Or do you think Pence does- because he heads the task force? [emoji849]

Fauci has advised SIX Presidents as Chief of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases since 1984, he must have got a lot right over the years to still be there..

Beginning in the 80's when he was directly involved in Acquired Immune Deficiency study.

Facts are hard things for the cult to grasp.

I see, so Fauci gets a pass, but the President doesn't? What do we need "experts" for if they are ignorant about emerging pathogens? Fauci has been political AF, going from green room to green room, basking in the limelight. Is that what government officials should be doing? When did he have time for any actual research? Also, why would he be a party to Fredo Cuomo's bogus "quarantine", and "emergence"?

No opinion on why Trump hasn't fire him yet?

Where did you give some specific examples of what Fauci got wrong?

C'mon. Dr. Fauci was trying to get the word out. He gave accurate and balanced information.

And by ignoring Fauci, Trump has killed tens of thousands of Americans. Mostly the elderly, who vote.

Please, by all means, present the President's bona fides in research, immunology, contagious diseases, and his medical degrees and experience.

What a stupid, stupid post.

Ignore science at your own peril.

Perhaps that was the idea. Cull the group that actually has the highest percentage of voters. Sounds like something Trump would support.

Trump hasn't attended a WH coronavirus meeting in months.

Trump is anti-Science. Why should he get a pass?

Incomplete options

I LOL when I read the title

Fauci is a scaremonger

Good riddance

Go Trump!! :)

You seem be very suspicious of people who have spent their entire lives working on this problem. Is that because you know better? Or is it because not following the advice of experts like him has become the norm for the failed administration you admire? Do you honestly like the results that not following the advice of Fauci and other experts in the field has left us with?
