In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s campaign rally in a half-empty Tulsa arena, Democrats openly cheered the revelation that activists had used Chinese social media platform TikTok to mislead the campaign into expecting a vastly larger crowd. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gleefully tweeted that the Trump campaign had been “ROCKED by teens on TikTok” who “make me so proud” and that “we see and appreciate your contributions in the fight for justice.” A closer consideration of the Chinese ownership of TikTok, however, raises serious concerns about the future of American democracy in a web that is increasingly controlled by our adversaries.

The straight up approach should be used; just ask the head of an adversary to help with your next presidential election.
 
Trump gave away an unlimited number of tickets to his rallies. All the non-college whites who are afraid of blacks who wanted to attend, attended.

He just thought more would show up than did. Hardly sabotage.

A rally in the middle of the biggest health crisis we've seen in 100 years is the dumbest thing any politician can do. A rally is not an election. Interference in a Trump rally is no different than the games Trumps people always play.

I will cheer them on any chance I get.

Sabotage is not okay. That is not what happened at the Tulsa rally. No one was denied a ticket,so turnout was not affected. That the organizers fell for the prank is on them. This continued butt-hurt on their part just makes it clear that they're stupid whiners. Life's a bitch and they you die! :mrgreen:
 
Imagine if a bunch of Trump supporters used the political equivalent of a DoS attack to try to reduce the turnout at a Biden rally.

It would have been front page news on the NY Times for a week and Nancy Pelosi would have introduced legislation to criminalize asking for a ticket to a rally if you don't intend to show up.
 
OTOH, TikTok needs to be banned in the US. Same with QQ, WeChat, Baidu, etc.

Was it really sabotaged though, or was it just trolled? I would say that sabotaging one's rallies should not be allowed. But Trump sold unlimited tickets, and so this instance is mostly a troll job since they couldn't take tickets away from anyone else. Everyone who wanted to go did go.
 
How do we know they actually got the tickets. After all, simply claiming that they did is enough to send the mighty one into the back room to whine again.

The idea of “Live and let live” has kept politics pretty civilized as far as allowing infrastructure attacks. When that dies, you can be sure the democrats won’t be exempt.

The point lost here is we are ignoring activity that will destroy democracy if no one calls foul.

No one will be surprised by right wing whining when trump loses, it is what they are best at, leading the Nation, not so much.
