How big of a threat is Russia to the United States?

That literally means nothing. With the internet, you don't need many resources to infiltrate a nation with carefully designed propaganda. Given that Russia, and likely China have viruses planted in MOST of our infrastructure, they are an existential threat. If they need to activate the viruses, they are already in the system. We also have planted viruses in infra. The Chinese hacked our IMF and world bank, and found out EVERY secret deal in the world. They found out that we were creating FAKE mortgage securities ratings. And they threatened us, and were going to reveal our treachery. Our dollar would have folded, so Republicans told us, we had 48 hours till martial law, NATIONWIDE. So we gave massive monies, to make folks in foreign banks whole.

So yeah, I have been writing for years now, about these very things, but till it was useful politically to the right wing, they didnt have an opinion on the matter.

But let's start, where is the comparable Mach30 missiles in America, and what are they called? Whoops, they dinna exist!
The Avantgard....., that's the Russian model, and just one of many... pray tell.... name just one of yours American that can go faster than Mach 7, that actually works, even the F35 lightning cannot go supersonic because of the paint melting, and 111 fatal flaws that allows the F35 to fall out of the sky!

Goodness me, viruses planted in your infrastructure.... please, just prove one fact that this has actually happened, not just some child in the school playground telling you stories.
Why would the Chinese need to know every secret deal, China finances your military spending, produces apple products, creates the electronics, takes your scrap, and produces destroyers, aircraft carriers, shipping, cars all sold to America! Because it's cheap!
America is to all intents and purposes, bankrupt. China could at a whim, close America down. All China needs to do as it's doing now, unload the dollar reserve it carries, purchase oil in Yuan, it is, to offer to buy back the Yuan in gold, it is, and you my friend along with all the western world are in a pile of keich!
The time of America, and the American dream has passed, wasted, along with the destruction of nations it became famous in the past two hundred years
 
The Russians are simply playing tit for tat; we meddle in their elections and they try to do the same in ours. But they aren't nearly as effective as the Chinese at subverting our democracy. They're amateurs by comparison.

If you had democracy, APAIC wouldn't run your politicians banks and military. 65% of your tax dollars wouldn't be going of military or derivatives of hardware. In fact, Americans wouldn't be dying because some greedy bastard wanted to put the price up of desperately needed prescription medicine by 1000%.

what type of democracy we have is our business. Considering that we still get to elect our leaders means we are still a democracy. That we elect bad leaders is a reflection on us, not democracy. That we allow bad things to happen is also a reflection on us. A democracy is only as good as it's citizens. And if you don't like it here, you are free to leave. That is also a characteristic of democracy. Vote with your feet, instead of your mouth. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Let take it one step at a time seeing you avoided replying to the question and side stepped the fact you don't understand your rights, freedom or democracy.
1. Who picks those allowed to stand for office, and who finances them, its not you, Joe public!
2. Those that picks and finances those allowed to stand reflects, they're decisions, not yours.
3. Being impartially picked is a sign of democracy, you have got that, or anything that even resembles that!
4. That bad things happen is a fact if life, you have deliberate strategies and policies to make life bad!

We have tested drones that can carry payloads and breach mach 15. There is also entire secret technology sections of the military that the public doesn't know about. The idea that a country with a GDP comparable to Tokyo can outpace us militarily is absurdity. I doubt Russia could beat Israel in a war, let alone the U.S.

Can you tell me about those incredible strategic accomplishments that should have been outside their capability in great detail? How threatening are they to us really?

How impactful do you think Russian propaganda is? Lots of nations spy on and try to influence us and each other. You need resources to pose a true military and economic threat, which Russia does not unless one stupidly believes that Russia might actually start a nuclear conflict.

So secret even the USA engineers haven't a bloody clue how to go about building these types of technology, stop trying to deceive yourself, it certainly will not work with me!
May I be so bold as point out your trillions spect on the F35 has 111 fatal flaws, cannot go supersonic, because the paint melts and the wings would fall off because of the heat! The pilots oxygen supply cuts off..... hell, look at the Boeing fiasco! I rest my case! An industry destroyed by corruption brown envelopes and lies.

The Russians don't have the same corruption, as they're military spending is spent on protecting there nation, not filling the pockets of those in finance. Hell, 9/11 was all about three trillion missing dollars.... and building seven holding the proof.... fell down, a huff and a puff and it just fell down! Now I see where you get your logic!
Ooh let's not forget the 747 folding it's wings up, shrinking its 9ft engines, breaking up the wheel assembly so it could fit through a six foot window in the pentagon without breaking the glass in the adjacent window. It was an American cruise missile killing Americans, just as it was Israeli weapons used on the USS Liberty which also murdered defenceless Americans.

I repeat, any attack on Russia or China, will see the demise of Americans and American cities, not Russian cities, or Chinese Cities.
America to all intents and purposes will be wiped out.
And just look at who runs, and who has run your country.
You thought and believed you were untouchable..... how does it feel now? But you can thank your lucky stars it was Russia that invented the technology, had it been American, billions of human beings would now be dead.

A threat to our democracy? I don't know that fake info from blogs, trolls and social media bots are all that influential to actual voters.

A threat to global annihilation? About the same since the proliferation of nukes.

Russia has succeeded in destabilizing NATO unity while inserting itself back into the Middle East both with very limited costs to itself. In one fell swoop Russia altered the path of the Syrian Civil War, built up a combined coalition of anti-ISIL states, which now form a power bloc in the Middle East, while America's position has eroded.

To be fair, the Russians have played little part in the bungling of American's foreign policy decisions, but they have consistently been there to reap the benefits.

How can it be possible, Russia succeeding in destabilising NATO? The biggest obstacle for NATO is America forcing an Israeli office into NATOs headquarters to allow Israel to dictate directly into European nations, military planning!

As for ISIL, ISIS, AL QUEDA, all mass produced CIA, FBI mercenaries paid lock stock and barrel!
Russia stopped these American paid mercenaries from destroying the Syrian nation, for American oil companies, again nothing to do with Russia, just freedom loving people getting together to stop American extremism. I'm sure that "MAD" still applies when discussing a nuclear conflict between the USA and Russia although I think that the US has many more nuclear weapons than Russia does.

I'm also sure that by now the US has some version of President Reagan's "Star Wars" up and running.

But the s500 can travel at Mach 30 for interception, America cannot and will not have comparative missile technology for at least thirty years. The American military have alternative military technology, to protect themselves, crying Americans sailors,
