Unless you're saying that you call Democrats 'elites' simply because you dislike them, and not for any coherant or substantive reason, then I don't think you've answered the question. Forgive me if I'm not interpreting what you said correctly; I'm just wasn't expecting anyone to admit to not having a real reason for using the term, 'elite'.
The use of the term, specifically against Democrats, is not new to me, but I'm not certain as to what it's supposed to mean when used in that context.
In any case, I wouldn't say that I neccessarily hate all my political opponents. My political opposition ranges from centrist/conservative Democrats, to right-of-center Republicans, to far right ultra-nationalists and xenophobes. That's a lot of people. I would say that differing views make it less likely for me to like someone, and that malicious views will almost certainly cause me to dislike someone, but I've no personal issues with principled, right-of-center conservatives.
As far as describing views I disagree with as, 'bizarre', it really depends on what we're talking about. There are plenty of viewpoints that I disagree with, but can at least understand and empathize with, such as the libertarian standpoint on taxes. I very much disagree with the notion that prostitution and drugs should be illegal, but can very much understand why someone would hold such a position. I suppose that views start to become bizzare to me once they start to get conradictory, and openly and decisively malicious.
Well, I do suppose that I find religion to be pretty bizarre. I think that in one of the hadiths, Muhhamud goes up to heaven on a flying horse to barter back and forth between God and moses about how many times a day that people prayer, with Moses talking God down from fifty, to five.
