No. its just partisan. They don't want to stop blacks from voting. Just democrats. If blacks were mostly republicans they would oppose voter id. Same thing with gerrymandering. they dont want to give blacks less representation. Just democrats.
 
Lets see....you need an ID to drive, rent or buy a car....

You need an ID to open a bank account or cash a check.....

You need an ID to prove you are old enough to buy tobacco or alcohol.....

You need an ID to apply for food stamps or welfare......

You need an ID to apply for Social Security or Medicade....

You need an ID to rent a house, Apt or get a mortgage....

you need an ID to get on an airplane..

You need an ID to get married....

You need an ID to buy a gun.....

You need an ID to get a hotel room....

You need an ID to get a hunting or fishing license.

You need an ID to donate blood

You need an ID to buy certain cold medicines

But it is just one of many republican ploys to reduce the number of Americans voting. Statistics show low voter turnout increases the chances of.republicans winning. Voter Suppression is their friend.

If it were easy to vote, mail In or internet, they wouldn't have a chance and they know it.

Nothing about this issue is about voter fraud. That is just a right wing talking point.

The more you look into the problems with racism you find it's white liberals and not white conservatives that underestimate black Americans. I've said this for years, the democrats are black Americans biggest obstacle. High and mighty White Liberals think the poor black person just doesn't know, how to use the internet, get an ID, who they should vote for. Great piece of video. Another good one is to watch the reactions by black voters to Joe Biden saying, "if you are having trouble deciding whether to vote for Donald Trump or Joe Biden you are not really black". Time to look into how the democrats are taking advantage of black America.

No. With an ID, every "American" can vote...if they want to...and ONLY Americans can vote.

Voting is a constitutional right. It's how we elect our so-called leaders. Making it difficult for somebody to exercise said right, is unconstitutional.

Not everybody has a valid photo ID on them. Some people lose them or they get stolen or the government never gave them a replacement.

The reality here is that the photo aspect is not the most important part, it's the signature. Each signature is unique in its own, and it's very difficult to master another person's signature without knowing the person ahead of time.

The only way to getaway with voter impersonation is the following:
(1) You know for certain the voter is not going to vote in the upcoming election.
(2) You know their signature.
(3) You know their polling location and address.
(4) You're the same sex and age group as the voter.

And just look at the cost-benefit aspect. One illegal cast vote would be felony, and you would face jail time, fines, and loss of the right to vote.

Personally I think photo ID laws (I think the original poster meant "photo id" for the record) are fine, just as long as they provide alternative options. I do not really find the photo aspect the most important part. Somebody could always get a fake ID or wear a disguise. I am not sure why finger printing isn't seen as an alternative option. The most important part is the NUMBER on the ID. Those can get traced and featured in your database with the government.

The problem here is people are looking at it from a lower class to upper class point-of-view. Of course EVERYBODY within those classes has some sort of photo ID on them. We're talking about people who live on the margins.
 
I'm going to say no, but not in the way the OP means.

It's not because they are black. It is some republican strategist noticed that lots of black people don't have ID.

So the Republicans moved to exploit that to keep turnout down.

It is patently obvious that republicans went down the list of where and how democrats vote and did everything in their power to limit or eliminate those ways and locations. Put the fewest machines in the most populous areas that usually vote democrat. In the hopes that people won't vote because the line is too long.

It is so pervasive and obviously cynically targeted that I now know there is no god.

Because the same folks who openly, constantly try to suppress the democrat vote make baseless claims about voter fraud at the same time.

No just God would tolerate this kind of behavior, yet none of them ever get struck by lightning.

republicans will do anything to stop those few votes. if it means making it harder for US citizens to vote they will do it. constitution (or just simple fairness) be damned.

I chose yes: not because just asking someone for ID is itself racist, but because it can be used by racists to limit minorities' ability to vote, and that is the intention.

Most .. if not all or a majority .. of states have provisional ballots .. meaning even if the state requires a valid ID and you don't have one ... you can still vote.
 
Not at all. But it is about making it harder for people to vote in general for states who have strict requirements about it. The strictest states are almost all red states where there are mix of red and blue in states that don't have Voter ID laws or laws that aren't as strict.

The reasons is simple, any GOP organizer will tell you: if you can lower the voter turnout, the GOP candidate has a better chance of winning:

It’s going to be a much bigger program, a much more aggressive program, a much better-funded program.”

It's just another cheap shot way of "winning".
 
No. Voting is the only constitutionally protected right requires one to be a citizen in order to exercise it. You’re supposed to prove your citizenship when you register, so there should be no problem with showing ID when you vote.

Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Alan Keyes, Candace Owens, Bob Woodson and so many other would agree... like every Black in that video. They were rightly shocked and offended at the stupidity of the questions asked... and asked because the stupid white Libs believed and were arrogant enough to spew the bull**** they did.
