True.

We should never underestimate the 'back the blue!' types, who would defend cops if they ate live babies in the town square.

Exactly. I never got over that injustice, and I'll never get over this one either. In fact, there have been so many, and most times the police aren't even fired, let alone charged, arrested and go on trial. Because prosecutors realize it's almost impossible to seat a jury that will ever convict a police officer... for anything. Even cold-blooded murder.

In sincerely hope he is not acquitted. I mean, I want justice properly handled and carried out and all that but I'd be tempted to be out in the streets if this happens. I will never riot or burn anything but I would have to be out there to show solidarity with everyone, and I've literally never gone to any kind of rally or anything in my life.
Anybody morally bankrupt to let these cops walk deserve the same kind of fate as Floyd.

no one is defending the cop who is responsible for the death of Floyd. But lots of you are using his death to justify everything from anti gun nonsense, to Trump bashing to actively supporting rioters and looters

why do so many leftwing gun banners fixate over penises?

BTW I guess you haven't quite been able to figure out that the riots and the failures of many police departments to protect people and businesses is a rather damning blow against the anti gun movement
So, where the **** where you guys? Oh, right. You're all talk.

I think there is a lot more stuff going on here that we don't know. the arresting officers treated this guy worse then some suspected cop killers.

It's a good thing that the state AG has taken the case. Everything needs to come out.

We can't even hope for a federal civil rights case to be filed by the DOJ under this corrupt Administration, and this corrupt, current AG.

WTF are you complaining about now. There were no riots in my city-its 80% GOP and the police officer I know says almost all the adults have CCW licenses. And I was not going to travel down to Cincinnati where the crap was going on

Well, prosecutors are largely in the pockets of the police unions, so that's the real factor in why cops don't get charged. They know the second they go against ANY cop, whether it's a civil rights violation or abusive or lethal use of force, they jump through flaming hopes to find excuse to not charge them. It's only public pressure that's resulted in these recent charges against police like Amber Guyger.

Police unions also own the judges and mayors. Then you've got their gang like code of silence, where snitching is a cardinal sin, and they are loyal to each other over civilians. Thus, complaints largely go nowhere and loose canons stay on the force.

Police culture has corrupted the entire system in their favor like the Mafia did years before, so it's no surprise the pressure finally blew up and brought on riots eventually.

Conservatives have made the above very politically incorrect to say, but it's the horrible truth. We all know it.

A 42 USC 1983 action might well take place but it usually does not if the defendant is convicted in state court.

what evidence do you have that AG Barr is "corrupt" other than you hate Trump and he was appointed by Trump?

Being wrong doesn't deserve capital punishment. Some people honestly just don't get it for w/e reason. Not too long ago I probably wouldn't think the same as I do now. There is a lot of injustice in the world and I think most people walk around with a headline-deep understanding of about anything that is going on right now.

I mean, I see a lot of people who are rightly outraged in my FB feed right now that are condoning the violence and rioting. There are innocent people that have died from the riots. A retired black police captain was shot in the head and I see people still supporting the blind rage. Everyone doesn't deserve death for being wrong. That's not helping.

Amen.

Murder is murder.

But it will still be ongoing come January. Hopefully we'll have a real president by then.

From your fingers to god's eyes, I sincerely hope so.

This nonsense belongs in the CT. Judges in the pockets of the police unions? OMG, in what city. You seem to have a major-league hatred of police.

Well you Trump haters are stuck with Biden so that won't happen. He clinched the nomination on Tuesday

If you suggest the death of that black retired officer is as big a loss, or bigger loss to society than Floyd, lots of people go nutso. I posted on my FB page the FPS officer (also black)who was murdered and other pages that mentioned that man, had people claiming that the "murder" of Floyd justified some coward killing officer Underwood in a drive by shooting

Right, like judges don't run on "the tough on crime" campaigns to coveted police endorsements. :lamo
You seem to have a major-league hatred of police.
So you DID graduate at the top of your class!

Though, I'd call it contempt.

Yeah, Trump was hemorrhaging voters in the Tuesday contests to Bill Weld, in a contest that was rigged and closed by the GOP.

Trump's in free fall. He's going down and the only people that will be shocked by the crash will be the cultists.

Interesting. I won't even speculate publicly why but having had 30 years experience as a prosecuting attorney in one capacity or another, I generally know why

Both are a loss and I wouldn't characterize the loss of either person as a bigger one. Neither of them deserved to die. One is worse in some ways but the other is worse in others. I mean, George Floyd was slowly killed on camera by agents of the state. He called for his Mom who had been dead for 4 years. That's ****ing heartbreaking and horrible and should never have happened.

I really hate that that injustice is losing attention because of the actions of the rioters. The riots are horrible but they will go away, eventually, but we need to fix things so the type of injustice that happened with George Floyd, that has been around for decades and decades, stops as well.

You weren't here in 2016 but you sound like several people who guaranteed Hillary was going to win

why do you think the death of this guy-a low level miscreant who was neither public enemy #1 or what you might call an upstanding citizen, caused all this angst when other police killings-did not?

If police officer Derek Chauvin, the man who kneeled on Floyd George's neck is acquitted, how bad do you think it will get?

Chauvin wont be acquitted. The powers-that-be can rig courtroom cases, and I predict they'll make sure he is guilty and serves time. He deserves it anyway, so no biggie.

reckless homicide is almost guaranteed if the other charges fail

Some of the other police killings deserved it as well. I'm not all on board for all of them, for instance like the false narrative that was pushed with Michael Brown incident. That was a big guy that fought a cop who was by himself. One punch is all it takes in that instance for it to be all over. In this case, the guy was handcuffed, face down, and had 3 other officers on the scene. The officer put his knee directly on his neck, with his body weight, and held it there for 9 minutes.

It's not just this incident though...this is just one of many and including all the humiliating and abusive incidents that don't result in death. For example, check out this video. They just kicked this dude in the back that was making no sudden moves and was fully complying. To top it off, they had the wrong guy but then still charged him with resisting arrest. This type of **** counts too.
