Here we go with another "basket of deplorables" list of options offered by some who presume only the worst and most ignorant of society could ever support the [insert preferred "evil" meme here.]

One good thing with these polls, we get to keep seeing the number of members populating this Forum who still haven't gotten over the psychic shock of losing in 2016.

Deplorables. It's now more than half but less Trumpers exist.

The article I posted a link to is really well done. I bet you wouldn't find much to disagree with.

If they had gotten over the trauma of losing in 2016, then I would have a lot less to be fascinated by.
How do you analyze Hillary losing; Trump winning; and Trump's irritating personality to understand just what it is the anti-Trumpers are sore about?
Without going too far back, it's like trying to understand just why did the Republicans decide to impeach Bill Clinton?
Was it sex? Lying? Obstruction? or just pure, nasty politics?

Compared to the deluge of nonsense polls I've seen here, I find this refreshing.

I've seen so many extremely ridiculous polls like, "is Joe Biden brain damages?"

I was about to ignore the polling section.

As suspected white blue collar.guys. I know bunches of them.

They know their standard of living is getting worse and looking for something to blame it on.

Read about the "Angry White Guy"

Spent way too much time listening to rush and sean and the boys and girls at faux news

The deplorables! Much misplaced anger from a sadly misinformed group.

Weeeelll...it IS the New York Times. ;)

I don't have a membership, and I prefer not to clear my "history" for two reasons.

a. I don't want to lose links from past searches.

b. Some of the sites have learned to read something that shows you've visited before anyway.

I would have read it otherwise.

I found an alternate source, hope you're not bothered by the name of the source, regardless, it's cut and paste of the article. First one that came up on search.

Who is everyone else? This is why Trump will win. The beltway elites are just so damn smart no one can even talk to them.

Oh, thanks. :)

I've seen this before.

I have my own opinion about this "shift."

Once upon a time, getting access to a college education was based on several factors. This included academic achievement (especially for middle class and poor citizen's access to scholarships), financial resources (family wealth, savings, working while attending college), and scholastic test scores.

For example, back in the olden days, my first degree came from a college where I earned some scholarships, used some family savings, and worked while I went to school. (My high SAT's and other scores helped).

There were also a limited number of "accredited" Colleges competing for quality attendees as much as they competed for academic rankings.

Today, thanks to all sorts of developments, pretty much anyone can get a "college degree." Lot's of "highly educated" Americans have degree's from "online Universities." Basically you pay your money, you get your "study materials," and you take a bunch of "self-paced courses and tests" with full-access to all those materials. Viola! You're a member of the "highly educated" club.

That's not to say those are the only methods. There are many "colleges" who offer what we used to call "gut courses" (laughingly labeled "underwater basket-weaving") mostly in all sorts of new "social sciences." Examples include, but are not limited to: Gender Studies, Women's Studies, Transgenderism, and a whole slue of Race studies to name a few.

Basically, courses designed to get someone a job in HR or some government agency created to deal with all the new and increasingly expanding grievance issues people are using to advance their own agendas.

IMO just because someone has a degree (I have four myself, 2 undergrad and two graduate) does not necessarily equate to what it once meant to be "highly educated."

Judging by some of the members of this Forum touting "grievance studies" degrees, IMO there are a lot of "educated" Americans with pretty degrees but not much actual education.

Looking at the poll results, people got it right for the most part

High income, Low education?444.44%
Evangelicals?555.56%
Are fearful of other races?555.56%
Don't believe in white privilege?222.22%
Say racial incidents are rare?333.33%
Worry about globalization?444.44%
Worry about automation?

Trump voters tend to not be college grads.

The most loyal Trump voters are evangelicals who don't like Trump, but they like his Supreme Court nominees and his stance on Israel.

The next most loyal are the low education, high income people. Plumbers, electricians, railroad engineers, crane operators etc. This group is shrinking all the time.

The least loyal Trump group is the low education, low income people. They can sense that they'll get a better financial deal from democrats but they don't like all the changes going on. Democrats can woo these people away, and they should.

Poll makes no s nse unless you can choose all of the above or whatever

I'm not voting bc I'm just not in the mood for this labeling stuff libs always do

We are all valuable and believe it or not, all equal in the eyes of God whether educated or not

7 out of 12 say: Evangelicals

All of the above? It's a mixture of all those things plus more.
