When Biden said that if blacks dont vote for him then they arent really black, was that a racist statement? What do you think?

I think several things.

1. Biden has always been gaffe prone

2. He's got a point

3. A better and more honest remark would have been, "If you don't vote for me you aren't really American."

BTW, you forgot none of the above.

Yes, the truth finally came out
No, he made a mistake because of his stutter/dementia

Idiotic poll, stupid, nonsensical, partisan "options". Hopefully it dies a quick, painful death.

And of course, there is no link to a source to where he supposedly said any such thing, in order for context to be judged. A big fat zero, all the way around,

How is it partisan? It's a yes or no option.

Read my edited post; It is not a "yes or no" option, since you added words to both the "yes" and the "no" so no matter which is chosen, Biden himself is demeaned and insulted.

But then, you already know that.

Correct.

2. He's got a point.

No, he doesn't. I am Black, I voted for Trump. I am not the only Black American who did in 2016, and won't be the only one who does in 2020.

My "Blackness" is not dependent on an "old White male's" evaluation, nor on YOUR'S, regardless of your Race.

3. A better and more honest remark would have been, "If you don't vote for me you aren't really American."

That is both a partisan remark, and just another example of "Leftist" scapegoating ala moral panic tactics.

Just as I was born Black, I was also born American. Both of those remain inherent characteristics of my existence, regardless of either his, your, or anyone's personal opinions.

No. Glad i could help.

Clearly the latter option is more likely.
25th amendment on inauguration day, and not one more... Not one.

I voted no, but not because of his diminished mental capacity. You see, I don't accept today's PC redefinition of "racism'... and that applies to everyone regardless of their political beliefs.

What Joe Biden said was not racist, but more of what I call racially insensitive. This wasn't him using a stereotype to attack or degrade black people in general, it was simply a political attack based on the political reality that 90% of black people in America traditionally vote democrat. He was feeding into the way that black democrats have treated black republicans, hoping that the guy interviewing him would agree and shame any black republicans in his audience.

To me, this is nothing more than a typical Joe Biden gaff similar to this one in 2008:

Kinda... trying to say something there eh?

Honestly, there should have been a third choice-just NO

the two available-both are damning.

Is skin color a race?

And another ad hominem.

You are batting 1000 in the typical response from those on your side of the argument.

Tagline time. :coffeepap:

What you don't understand is that just because you're born here in America it doesn't mean you're an American. You have to learn to be an American. I was lucky in that regard because both my parents understood what this country is all about and they passed that on to me through their actions, attitude, reactions, etc. You apparently never had that advantage because if you had, or if you had learned for yourself, you would know that Trump has nothing to do with what America is about. He in fact is the antithesis of what being an American is all about.

Not enough poll options to answer. I largely agree with Grim here:

I think he likely suffers from the 'soft bigotry of low expectations' - a holdover of his generation perhaps. To an extent his attitude toward people of color is patronizing and his efforts to 'connect' come across as fake or like this one, offensive.

On the other hand he believes what he said I think. He reckons he's a better deal for African Americans than the openly racist Trump, who panders to white supremacy. He believes they should get a vote, whereas many Republicans don't and he thinks he's entitled to those votes by dint of being 'better than the other guy'.

He doesn't seem to realize he must earn those votes regardless.

It confirms that Biden's track record of making similar statements isn't a fluke. If you repeat the same gaffe dozens of times, it's probably not a coincidence.

The way you qualified your "no" option. But you know that, you're just being obtuse.

The OP is an ad-hominem but you're ok with that  Color me shocked

It's funny how these foaming at the mouth MAGA's seriously expect us to get down on our knees and beg forgiveness for Biden's mistakes, when they've turned a blind eye for four years to Trump's open anti-Hispanic racism, misogyny, abusive nature, corruption, incompetence, stupidity, deranged mental delusions, and raging sociopathic behavior that has rocked our moral fiber to its core for a generation.

They can kiss my ass. We owe them no excuses or explanations. They intend to vote for Trump no matter what he does, and now we've arrived at the same place when it comes to Biden, and they seem to be unable to get that through their thick skulls.

I couldn't agree more, won't bother to participate in this garbage.
