What would you think of this form of government?

I just thought of an interesting form of government and would like to hear your thoughts. For this form of government, elected officials are basically elected for life. However, elected officials can still be kicked out of office through a vote of no confidence which can be held (on election day) if enough signatures are gathered. This can happen up to once a year but cannot happen on they ear they step into office. Should an elected official be recalled, they will remain in office for more time than they do now as to give time for replacements to build up their election campaigns

    Pros

Allows politicians to plan for the future without having to worry about the next election season

Popular politicians will not have to spend as much time campaigning

May reduce the "lesser of two evils" mentality. Imagine if Trump was recalled. The republicans would nominate their replacement candidate, giving ease to republicans who didn't like either Trump or Clinton.

May force both parties to nominate candidates that the people actually want so that they don't get recalled after the first year

    Cons

More controversial figures may have to pay more attention to staying in office than actually running the country. I could imagine Obama and Trump facing recall elections every single year of their presidency.

If constituents are under an ok politician, it may keep them from nominating a great one

May not work as well in a polarized constituency as the other side would be trying to recall the incumbent.

For better or for worse, this system will likely promote centrist candidates.

Power corrupts and this would just lead to authoritarianism as politicians shore up support and discourage dissent through abuses of power.

I hate the idea and I don't think any elected politician, whether it's a State or Federal election, should be allowed to serve more than 2 terms just as our Senators are able to.

The main problem with out system is the huge amounts of money it takes. That eventually makes every politician beholden to special interests, and represent those special interests more than the citizens who elected them. Your idea won't fix that, and term limits won't fix that.

We're not talking about repealing the bill of rights, only the concept of terms and replacing them with recall elections.
