Simple question

If a politician calls certain people their enemy for disagreeing with them, being critical of that politician’s actions , or are political opponents of that politician, would you approve that politician openly calling for and targeting their political “enemies” for persecution?

If we're both thinking about who I think we are, hell no, particularly if that person happens to be a head of state. That means said person represents their nation-state to the world. Targeting political opponents within said nation-state means you aren't doing your damn job.

Targeting?

If this 'targeting' involves firearms, I would say it is wrong.

If targeting means talking about someone then it's free speech.

If it's legal it's fine. Happens with all politicians to some degree

What about using the powers available to that politician (judicial, executive, and legislative) to go after their rivals.

Using the power of their office to command government officials to target their opponents strictly for political purposes is wrong... All inquiries or investigations into anyone, especially a political opponent, must have justification.

What is free speech. For example could I say that Sky Chief beats his children and get away with it under free speech rules? You might say that you could seek redress with a lawsuit, but can I use the defense of "just free speech"?

Not if you put it that way.

Why would any administration need to be that corrupt? We have a first world economy and corporate welfare is alive and well.

I'm not generally a fan of trying to control the uncontrollable. How would we presume to prevent such list from existing, or people from acting on it?

The list needn't be a physical object to exist and be acted on.

As a law, it seems it would be only slightly harder to bypass than it is to sneak out of the house after your parent's go to bed.

No, I don't approve of that but the Obama deep state did it anyway.

That would be slander - not free speech.

When I sue you, I will need to show damages. The amount of my lawsuit against you will be proportional to the damage(s) your slander caused.

So presidents don't slander? I guess one man's definition is ill suited to another man who doesn't like it.

15 posts into this thread and still nobody has explained what 'targeting' means.

This is a strong Trump-bashing forum so I'll assume that Trump must have said something disparaging about some democrat and you Never-Trumpers want to muzzle him - is this correct?

It means using law enforcement to deliberately press criminal charges against people who politically oppose you, or people that you consider your political enemies.

Say for example, deliberately creating false criminal charges against members of the political administration just because they got one of your political allies in Trouble

Thanks.

Deliberately creating false criminal charges against any person or any group of people is wrong, IMO.
