I support the 2nd Amendment of the United States . How any person uses it I sometimes question.

Example; why is the purpose of a AR 15 to kill a lot of humans in a short amount of time, is there any other reason for this weapon to be used?

If you are going to an area in a city in America where you know there is a lot of Gang Violence you might carry such a weapon , or perhaps keep one in your house to protect yourself against rioters in case a Riot should happen.
However to actually carry a AR 15 in to a State capitol just to make a statement to protest to a state official is this not feeding ammunition to those that would not only ask for gun control but those that want to Abolish the 2ND Amendment altogether???:peace
 
Protests .

Yeah , I know about protest, I marched and protested for Civil Rights against Segregation , and against the Vietnam War.

It took a lot of protest by white and black more that a few years but today there is no Segregation and there is Civil Rights perhaps not where it should be but a start still working on that.
The Leader of the Civil Rights Movement always said a peaceful protest will always speak louder than a violent one.
The protest in Michigan where people showed up with AR 15's what kind of coverage is it getting???



The Vietnam War again it took some time but America left Vietnam
Some had said if we lose in Vietnam Communist will take over they did so what?

Now maybe I was always in the wrong place at the wrong time or perhaps just missed it .
After protesting in 3 different states several different cities I never saw any protester carrying an automatic weapon .

To say none of these protest were violent lie, check the news footage , anybody that says those nightsticks cops used don't hurt is Telling lies.:peace

I've had the picture for a long time now. Picked it up off of another debate site that was talking about small groups of Antifa coming out in places like Philadelphia and California.

Might be a gay rights wing of the group?

My older brother joined the Panthers in their protest of the war, till he got arrested at least.

Then he learned that all of that speak about brotherhood and compassion, is worth very little when your in jail.

That seems like a clear reach.

- First of all, going to an "area" where you know a lot of gang violence occurs would be retarded. A white man in Compton? Besides that, there are no combat zones in America.

- Second, I have an AR-15 because it's variations were my career weapon and they are cool. I would venture a proper guess that most Americans, who have an AR-15, do so because they are cool. That simple.

The idea that one owns multiple weapons because of home defense, personal defense, or the threat of government tyranny is nonsense. For example, I have three pistols. Do I need three pistols for defense, or just a series of mags for the one pistol? The Corps only gave me one pistol and one rifle to walk around in combat zones.

Another example: we have nutcases walking around with their toys to protest against the temporary problem with needing a haircut, while cops simply watch and create small talk, with most of the protesters arriving with mere picket signs. Clearly, the government tyranny talked about in our famous founding documents is merely an idea anymore. It goes hand-in-hand with Washington's warning about foreign entanglements, another tidbit often taken out of context and used wrongly. The government tyranny and foreign entanglements had everything to do with the fact that America stood alone against an ocean of monarchy and autocracy, with Europe's great powers at each other's throats and looking for American allies.

Anyway, if we were to declare any of them patriots during this demonstration, it would be those with their picket signs, not those with their toys who are clinging to a delusion of their armed worth.

I'm not sure that all protests are healthy. Some are incited by outside agitators and generate a great deal of friction for the cause being protested. Reference the Dorr Brothers for example and their family history of inciting causes for profit.

I know in fact we do live in a Democracy where guns are easy to purchase on the street or legally the mass shootings of America has proven that time after time.
Even to the point where American society accepted it .
However, if people start carrying AR 15's to make a point push comes to shove the anti protesters might start carrying AR 15'S as well, after all they to have rights., The same rights unless I'm mistaken,

Just because a bunch of right wing organizations , organizes few hundred people to protest dose not necessary mean that protest are over.

More than one city protested against Trump before they will again might tell the right wing protesters to leave their AR 15'S home:peace

I did my time in jail too marching for Civil rights my first time I felt kinda down charged with insinuating a riot by marching down the street with a sign?
However if the leader Dr. King can get arrested and go right back to marching am I any better?

As far as protest against the Vietnam War this was a unified protest by mostly Hippies , Vets and the Vietnam Vets and others . Got arrested for disturbing the peace 3 nights in jail would have spent more but more were being arrested than being released I guess they needed the room.:peace

So you have people that like to collect guns because they are cool.I got no problem with that even collecting AR 15's

So if these AR 15's are used in a mass shooting like a College , or a movie theater or a school yard or a church . I guess these guys weren't collectors ,.

The 2nd amendment isn't going anywhere never was in any danger .
I blame this on those Survival groups that started coming out in the 70's.
They were saying get your guns as much food as you can carry and leave cause they're going to take are guns away..
So what happened? passed a couple of laws so crazy or mentally ill people should be able to buy a gun so easily. maybe they shouldn't?

I'm just glad that he cut ties with them before everything turned really sour.

All of that love & peace shtick with the flower child movement, wasn't really helping anything but drug usage rates and std distribution rates.

But the Panthers were an entirely new problem all their own.
