For some reason, people shy away from mine.

I feel so much better now since I've completely given up all hope.

Re: Do you wear a mask (or something similar) when you go out in public?

I have no need or desire to go out in public really but I had to pick up prescriptions today at Costco. So I decided I was 'all in' and shop too. Mostly just needed snacks and alcohol and hot sauces...shows how spoiled I am and also how prepared I was.

So I did wear a mask. It was about 50-50 people who did and didnt.

I have only made brief trips to a nearby convenience store and drugstore but tomorrow I have to go to the post office and a hardware store. My wife has asthma and my doctor advised me to wear a mask and glasses. Fortunately, my wife has a good supply of N95 masks that she uses when she cuts the grass or tends to her horses' stalls. So I will do that tomorrow.

I wear one constantly at work. I'll re-use it for going out in public after work . Otherwise I think its fine to wear something you make at home, but I am very conscious of the need to save the surgical masks for sale, for health care workers. If the nursing home/ memory care/ hospital doesn't get their shipment in or runs out , they will be rushing to buy out the supply at Walmarts etc. I leave those on the shelves.

I wear cotton gloves I change all the time and wash. I must have about 50 pair. It keeps me from touching my face by accident until I can wash my hands thoroughly.

Unfortunately I am shopping or running errands almost every day. I do it mostly for people that are over 80 and very sickly so they don't have to go out. I used to go shopping for them before this or would take them to the store. I am cautious and keep my distance but to be truthful I am not all that concerned about getting it. I see the same people day in and day out working at the post office, drugstore, grocery store, etc. that I have been going to for years now. Strange all these people working every day in this pandemic and nobody I know and see has gotten sick.

My brother caught it and said it wasn't that bad. Of course he has to work with people from all over the world and travel. He told me he most likely would get back in December. A risk of the job he does. A minor risk compared to the normal risks he takes in the job he does.

Started a few days ago. Wear one when I get groceries or any other store I have to go to. When I go for a walk, nope. I just keep my distance. Rarely see anyone when I am on my walk.

Nothing is less clown-like than getting coronavirus, becoming an asymptomatic carrier, and then spreading it to the elderly and immunocompromised.

Wash your hands. Donít cough on people. People at risk need to manage that themselves, like staying home.

I certainly do all that, Aberration. But apparently it does not spread just through coughing. If you have caught COVID-19 but are not yet showing symptoms (it can take days or weeks for symptoms to manifest) you can spread it simply by breathing near people. A mask helps to catch the moisture you exhale from your lungs which the virus travels through. That is why wearing a mask is imperative if you do not know whether or not you have contracted the virus. I certainly do not wear it as a fashion statement.
