This is debate politics.... you make an assertion, particularly one that is controversial or contrary to conventional wisdom, its up to you to support that assertion.

You think Trump has handled this expertly, then make the case. The floor is yours.

The facts of the matter already did show that. Weren't you paying attention?

The guy made claim.... I was asking him to show cause for that claim. Do you have one?

Again, the guy made an unsubstantiated claim. I want substantiation.

BTW, in case you haven't seen the numbers, the US leads the world in infections and soon will lead it in deaths. Why is that? I don't think the other countries are much of a comp except to illustrate that the US is an outlier here and as such begs the question, "what did we do wrong?"..... the numbers certainly do not suggest what the poster wants us to believe: Trump is doing such a great job that he will be re-elected. I don't see it. Do you?

I will tell you why the US leads the world in infections because we have a better detection system. If we actually knew the numbers in China I don't think we will ever lead on reported deaths.
And yes I do believe Trump has an excellent chance of being reelected..why because the American people according to the polls don't blame him for the Pandemic and two 'Senile Joe Biden' waiting somewhere in the wings trying remember who his wife is and to get his meds up to date.

I believes his handling of this crisis has an approval rating of about 60% with the American people. Democrats/liberals/progressives/socialist are using this crisis as a political weapon loaded with tonnes of propaganda in hopes it has a political outcome for them in the upcoming elections.

George W Bush had 92% after 911. 60% in a crisis is not very impressive.

That is like saying the Civil War started because Lincoln was elected. It was all his fault.

Didn't say that at all. Just learn about 'Crimson Contagion' and try to align that with 'no one could have seen this coming'

Actually there was evidence that China saw it coming back in Oct/Nov of last year and squished any reporting of the virus by jailing those who dared to speak out and sound the alarm.

Select committees are not impeachment inquiries. Think 9.11 or the Kennedy assassination.

In liberals' eye they are required to start impeachment inquiries. Didn't you know that? It's OBVIOUS to the rest of the world.

Resign?!

Only one President in U.S. history has ever resigned and that was only after his misconduct had become so obvious that he had lost the support of even his GOP supporters. Rather than face the impeachment that would have tossed him from Office and opened him to criminal charges, he resigned. Then Ford pardoned him.

Trump escaped his obvious treachery over Ukraine because today's GOP has made it clear that it works at his pleasure, not for the people. He has no reason to resign over anything because he really has nothing to fear outside of election day, which is why he routinely holds re-election pep rallies. And these rallies are all about pushing the extremist politics that carried him to the White House (as well as nursing an ego that his behavior constantly bruises). But he has made it clear from the beginning that he rests his presidency on only the health of the economy. Since he has convinced his constituency that he "fixed" Obama's economy, despite having nothing to fix and showing no difference, he now fears that his constituency and the average American will look to him for blame for its current virus-instigated mess. At the same time, his ego will not allow him to cast off the delusional idea that he embodies good economy and the "art of the deal." Forget his history of bankruptcies and forget that the man's talent for three years has been to only wreck established deals and make senseless and inconsequential ones.

- Iran deal replaced with no deal? Sorry Israel.
- Billion-dollar TPP deal replaced with million-dollar Japanese deal? Sorry lost American revenue.
- Public trade war game that resulted in a deal that simply resets to the beginning? Sorry impractical dreamers.
- Ongoing North Korean missile program? Sorry special bond.

Thus, his only real fear is that people will continue to follow in the false economic and false deal-making theme that he set himself up for, while hoping that people will continue to just ignore his clear presidential history. He knows he is not held accountable for anything else. So, why resign over something like COVID-19, of which his only real bumbling was when he was earlier playing "political" complacency games?

(* I place political in quotes because there was nothing political about it. It was simply more of his dip****tery that he knows pleases his cult.)

And just how would you know he has been ineffectual? Based on what metric? Do you have something to compare it to?
S Korea? Taiwan? Italy? Spain? Are you getting your arguments from the NY Times? The DailyKos? WashPost?
You're a Trump naysayer dragging other naysayers behind you.

Trump is certainly malfeasant dragging all his supporters with him in support of malfeasance. The Trump inability to lead ha been clear from the start. That you resent it is meaningless.

One can disagree with the President without his supporters going through the hand clutching the breast histrionics.

He needs to resign.

Anyone who states Trump has handled this crisis expertly does not know the meaning of the word "unprecedented".
How do you judge expert handling if you don't have a metric with which to measure it?
It's not called the 'novel coronavirus' for nothing.

You're a professor? Of what ? Negativity?
If you understand logic and critical thinking, then tell us on what basis Trump is malfeasant?
Compared to what? The last time we had a deadly virus that killed thousands of Americans?
Are you getting your talking points from Pelosi?
And I am not saying he has done excellent work thus far.
But only Trump haters suffering from TDS would expect him to resign.

Compared to what? Obama's approval rating at this time in his presidency was lower than Trump's now.
Would you say Obama was a worse president that Trump?

No, I don't think even James Buchanon was a worse president than Trump.

The guy made claim that Trump has shown an expertise in handling this crisis ... I was asking him to show cause for that claim. Do you have one?

The guy made an unsubstantiated claim. I want substantiation. I will not let people make reckless statements. This is DEBATE (make a point and back it up), not post your impressions. How I feel about Trump is not the point, though I would actually like to hear someone intelligently defend his performance here. I ask, yet rarely receive much of a defense. I don't think one exists. Do you have defense?

I cannot say Trump is doing an excellent job because we do not have a scenario to compare it against.
If we only lose 100,000 Americans compared to 1 million Americans, is that a good job?
How would we know?
Saying Trump is doing the best job he can is about the best statement we can make.
What would you compare it to?

Stating a fact is not cheer leading for that fact.

I do not wish anyone to fail during the pandemic, but I am reasonably sure Trump will fail regardless.

How in the world would you know he failed in this crisis? Compared to what? Italy's death rate? S Korea's death rate?
What is your metric? Or don't you have one because Trump haters don't need a reason to want Trump to fail?

You don't want anyone to fail during the pandemic, but you expect Trump to fail.
So what does failure look like to you? If you can't define then how can you predict it?

Here's one...
djt knows what the select committees that will investigate events leading to Covid in America will find. That not only was he unprepared for the presidency, it was his specific leadership that led to our lack of preparation.

And, of course, you wanted Trump convicted by the Senate because you honestly believed that what he did warranted his removal from office. How did that work out?
Your TDS is showing. Still missing Hillary, are you?

Failure looks like what has happened ever since "it's just one man from China".

Trump had a chance to be an actual leader, and he wimped out for over a month.

If only the opposition invested 1/10th of the time they do with impreachment on thesmelves, they would have won 12 straight elections by now.

They are one gigantic embarrassment and despite living on the other side of the Atlantic, I can feel the cringe.

Didn't say that at all. Just learn about 'Crimson Contagion' and try to align that with 'no one could have seen this coming'

My analogy is pointing out how ridiculous it is to blame the president for not expertly handling and unprecedented event.

Your Trump hatred has no bounds. Even during a national emergency.
Sort of like the America Firsters in 1940 who defended the Nazis because they were against Communism.

Literally everything you said is WRONG.

Dow Jones today is 21,341 and climbing. (Maybe your ticker is broke?)

COVID-19 is not Trumps fault. . . his expert handling of this crisis will be the reason he gets re-elected. That and the fact that his opponent is senile and unqualified to be POTUS.

:lamo the ass kissing is too much.
