Recently minimum wage has been a hot topic. The primary reason wages have stayed low for the people at the bottom of the work force is the surplus of unskilled and semi skilled labor. Illegals will work cheap. Americans will work, but not at those wages. IF we had NO illegal work force, and employers HAD to hire native born Americans, we wouldn't be having a discussion about minimum wage, because to attract American workers those same employers would HAVE to pay more.

At what point do you realize people detained in US custody still have access to healthcare, and you shouldn’t allow nor accept people and children dying because of lack of healthcare? If they need to be hospitalized, they should be. Kids in border camps are being infected. Their is no excuse to hate these people and act like they deserve to die.

Um, you might want to read what that poster actually wrote again..."Feed them and treat them" does not imply that he hates or believes they deserve to die.

Their country isn’t going to any of the bills, and they’re not going to pay for the wall. Trump decided to detain these people. He campaigned on it and his supporters support it. You don’t want to pay for their food, their shelter, their healthcare too bad.

No legalization. We tried an amnesty in 1986, and heard all the bull**** that the this would be the last time and THEN we would enforce the borders. The fools lied left us with this mess.

Nope, toss in cattle cars and freighter holds, lock the doors and hatches, put armed guards on the trains and ships and transport em back with a tatoo on their forearms: "illegal in America, arrest on sight".

The ones who work in agriculture will have jobs waiting for them once the crisis is over, and many work in agriculture.

First the only time an illegal is in a 'nativist's' house is to do their laundry, care for their kids or maintain the lawn. Most 'nativists' would never go near where the illegal lives so that's not even part of your house. How many times have the same partisans rant and rave about many parts of our Republic, some going so far as wishing large population centers would leave the Republic??? Ditch San Fran or all of Cali west of the mountains, NYC???? So can the 'your home' crap, most the time you disown your own 'home'. The illegals ain't even in your neighborhood once the sun goes down...

We have the resources, what's the issue is more and more are being taken off the board, tied up in fewer and fewer hands. History is repleat with examples of countries collapsing as the masses no longer feel they have a happy future for their children. Our nation won't collapse due to immigrants but rather the loss of a vibrant middle class and a detached financial elite... :peace

But as other people have mentioned, they are coming here because business owners are hiring them. A LOT of business owners -- including our President.

There is a reason why we don't go after business owners, but that's where we need to focus enforcing our laws. What's the chance of that happening?

Also, the countries people are coming from are not providing for their people. They are corrupt, dangerous, places...many of them. People want safe living conditions so they can raise their families and put food on the table. I understand why illegals come to our country, but they aren't going to stop any time soon unless we root out the underlying reasons why they come here.

Those people should change their countries instead of changing ours. We have provided a pretty ****ing good model of how to do it... so, maybe they should get their **** together and implement some Founding Fathers styled “Hope and Change” where they live.

Highlighting the doing jobs Americans don't want to do eh? I guess you want to ignore the impact on wage depression, straining the safety net and government aid resources, increases to crime rates, gang activity, gun and drug trafficking, and things that actively hurt the middle class in our country.

Illegal immigration has plusses but the minuses outweigh them.

Getting their *** together is evidently easier said than done. Just because they "should" get it together doesn't mean they know how or don't need help doing it. These people coming over here illegally are probably not Einsteins. They want work. They are good workers who want to provide for themselves and their families, and they need this today. They will die waiting for their country to change.

We are blaming the little guys when we should be enforcing our laws by going after business owners who hire people who are here illegally. If business owners didn't hire these people then they wouldn't be coming here. Simple as that.

So are you willing to enforce our laws and go after business owners who hire these illegals? I doubt it because we all benefit from them being here doing work that most Americans don't want to do.

So why aren't you ranting about business owners who hire illegals? That's where the real problem lies. Put all business owners who hire illegals, in jail, including the President.

Trying to bring it down to a simple level, by asking a pertinent question...wouldn't one seek legal restraints against people simply coming in and squatting in one's own dwelling? Perhaps one might welcome the first group thinking you had plenty of space...yet when more and more people follow the first group in straining/draining your resources, and your "home" becomes more theirs than yours? Some people like the member you responded to...can't seem to see the forest for the trees on some issues.
