I don't live my life worrying about peoples color.

Nice people and dick heads come in all skin colors.

Some of the kindest gestures and hand up's in my life have come from people of color.

In the last census I refused to answer the race question as I oppose the concept of "race" and a national race-registry.

For this, I was called and told I had to answer. I replied that today I would rather be somewhere else, so "I pick being a Pacific Islander." The census taker on the phone replied that I sound white, so he was listing me as white and hung up.

So a new definitely of race had been recreated. :2razz:

Anyway, I didn't answer the poll as this is another time I'd prefer to be a Pacific Islander.

Essentially all segregation in the USA is by the people themselves. It is only white people who are told they are evil if they want to live among "their own."

I can state by my life experiences the only truly dangerous and violent racism I have seen (a lot) has never been by white people. but rather against white people.

Most white progressives are truly absurd in their desperately seeking out any way to call everyone and everything racist - when they grew up and lived totally shelters and spoiled upbringing, trying to be enlightened on race when they don't know jack**** about real racism.

The Irish, the Italians, Germans, Asians, Catholics and others all had to fight for their piece of the American Pie. Nothing was given to any of them. They earned everything they have. However, now they are referred to as the "White Privileged Class" by those who think they should be given the American Pie. They don't understand that the American Heritage is to earn your way.

They certainly were luck to escape from Ireland in the mid-19th century.
Otherwise there would have been a lot more starving dead Irishmen in Ireland.

You can be any color and any religion and still be privileged. There are also a heck of a lot of dirt poor white Catholics. I don't see any correlation between faith or skin color and privilege.

That is true for some, however they are they costing the US taxpayer more than 100 billion annually. They are not carrying their weight. Comparing the plight of immigrants in the 19th Century and those today is a fool's errand. Today the get the following. In the 19th Century they got zip.

If they work here legally, then those immigrants pay taxes like anyone else, which means they should be eligible for the programs those taxes help pay for.

Depends on the program. I don't mind giving unemployed immigrants being given food stamps, for example. People need to eat, and that money goes back into the economy anyway.

I think that charity doesn't cover the needs of everyone who can't afford to feed themselves or their children, and government picks up the slack.
