...which ignores the fact that the Antebellum and post-Civil War Democratic Party represented the conservatives, who fought tooth and nail to preserve slavery. The KKK came from this when the South was forced to give freed blacks their rights. Soon after the Compromise of 1877, which ushered in Jim Crow, and especially during Grover Cleveland's presidency (1890s), both Parties went through a major upheaval. The GOP and the DNC began to look more like "big tents" where conservatives and liberals found themselves in both parties. This is why some Democrats in the twentieth century, even after looking to support minorities as a political base, were also still Kookies.

This "big tent" political environment lasted up to around the Civil Rights Marches when liberals and minorities began to gravitate towards the Democratic Party and conservative whites began to gravitate towards the Republican Party. Once again, we saw race as a factor in the Parties. The klan is and has always been a conservative organization, which is why it hails from the alt-right, not the alt-left, which is within the GOP's playground.

Probably because Antifa is nothing compared to what white supremacists and neo-Nazis are. This is how conservatives expose themselves for who they really are:

But since conservatives have found themselves defending Trumpism, as if their souls depended on it, they find themselves unwittingly aligning with those in white sheets and swastikas.

You see, the conservative default, especially since Trump, is to defend white supremacists and neo-Nazis by pretending that Antifa is just as bad. It's merely political preservation meant to help conservatives cope with their sudden realizations of who so many of them really are. With white supremacists and neo-Nazis appearing loudly at Trump rallies, and Trump embracing their support, the wider pool of conservatives found themselves unable to hide who they were anymore. Thus, conservatives try in vain to promote Antifa as a group that is so dangerous to America that ignoring the historically radical right-wing trash next to them is acceptable. Oh, and somehow out of this conservatives like to think that they can get away with labeling liberals the "true" racists and fascists. It's all about personal denial and a need to be aggressive against a phantom enemy.

If white was changed to black, you would blow a gasket. No, Antifa are not nice people. They are worse than the Klan or the Proud boys or the other gangs. They are all over America. Like the plague and you are welcome to attend their racist groups all you want.

I personally classify myself as a centrist. Not right nor on the hateful side of the left.

Antifa is all over America. Antifa is very violent. Also Antifa far outnumbers the Klan. When have you seen the Klan in your area? But at universities all over,you see Antifa using clubs and dangerous weapons.

White supremacists are responsible for millions of murders, ethnic cleansing and genocide. They killed someone during their "demonstration" recently, injuring dozens. They are terrorists employing terror against groups in attempt to marginalize that group politically and otherwise. It's common for them to claim attempt to start a "race war".

Antifa are some jackass college kids that have never killed anyone and occasionally slap someone.

There's no comparison. It's an alt-right boogeyman. It's a "look over there" for nazis of various sort. If it wasn't for nazis, we wouldn't hear about the "communists" and "anarchists" and douchebags that make up the "group" which is not an organization in any meaningful way.

My paternal grandfather took me and my 2 brothers to a KKK meeting/initiation ceremony in SE Okla. when I was four years old in 1957.. That sorry racist bastard was a hard core Conservative and a Southern Methodist Deacon, and as crooked as the day was long.

what groups to you label as white supremacists? Stalinists who murdered millions of white people? Nazis who murdered millions of white people, along with some that were not-such as the "gypsies". The group that has murdered the most people are collectivist authoritarians

No, you are definitely right-wing and very easily manipulated by radical propaganda. If you have a problem with a member of Antifa harassing a bigot, a supremacist, or a Nazi-wannabe, then you are clearly in denial of what you are. And do try to figure out what racism is.
