perhaps, but then again He also created eucalyptus and black mold and I wouldn't ingest that.

My view on the religious aspect is the only comment tends to be around the idea of "don't do it to excess", in regards to mind altering substances, which can be avoided with weed easily enough, so its at least in the "this isn't terrible" category.

My thing is that I am simply personally not interested. I have done plenty of drugs in my time but those oats are already sown and I am satisfied with those experiences but no longer wish to continue them in favor of other good experiences I consider to be more important.

As "original sinners we are also denied and disparaged Perfect Knowledge of Good and Evil or Bad". Thank goodness for science.

We merely need to learn how to use any "given Thing created by God", for the Good and not for the Bad.

I'm not a bible thumper, but I know that marijuana is a very healing plant provided by nature. It has been used by many, for a looong time, for various reasons. It is a gift, and can sometimes save those with chronic pain from suffering the effects of prescription drugs, it can help with sleep and PTSD, etc. I'm not against responsible use of alcohol either, but honestly, if you switched out drinkers with those who smoked pot, the world would be a healthier, safer and much more friendly place to be.

Most people I know who have criminal records have them for one of only two reasons:

1. Drunk Driving
2. Marijuana possession

It would be nice to rid the nation of reason number two.
 
When they develop a test for marijuana that works at the roadside, like they do for alcohol, I will support legalization. But I want to know if the guy who hits and kills that person in the crosswalk is high or not, just like I would want to know if he/she were over the alcohol limit; .08
 
It should be treated like booze, including allowing people to grow their own.

Practice makes perfect for marijuana users. Alcohol can render a person unconscious.
 
Either we legalize pot or we put the same restrictions on liquor. I remember the days when having pot on you would send you to prison while at the same time, people were getting boozed up, driving cars and killing people.

I agree with half of it. It should be legalized, however, each conviction should be evaluated separately. There are people in prison for trafficking large amounts of marijuana. That isn't the same as a pot head. Some convictions are more about the action than the product. The act of trafficking and bringing illegal substances into our streets is wrong and should not be overturned.

Possession related charges I'd have no problem with.

Sorta agree. However, often bigger crimes get plea bargained down to , say, possession. That needs to be evaluated before opening the cell door.

Weed shouldn’t be illegal, even if it leads people to mistakenly conclude that certain bad music is good.
 
Take it off the federal books and expunge any convictions under federal statutes except for transport of large amounts over state borders. Let each state regulate as they see fit. No reason to micromanage this call at the national level. Congress should get out of the way but not impose the opposite result over states that prefer to leave it illegal.
