Using the definition below the answer is a giant No!

    fascism

a political system based on a very powerful leader, state control of social and economic life, and extreme pride in country and race, with no expression of political disagreement allowed

FASCISM | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary
Attorney General William Barr: “The fact of the matter is that, in waging a scorched earth, no-holds-barred war of 'Resistance' against this Administration,
it is the Left that is engaged in the systematic shredding of norms and the undermining of the rule of law.”

Trump is certainly the closest thing in a fascist the American presidency has ever seen.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

I like Merriam Webster's definition better-"a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition". djt isn't a fascist yet, but he'd like to be.

    fascism

a political system based on a very powerful leader,
    Which we have.

state control of social and economic life,
    Which Trump wants.

and extreme pride in country and race,
    That's exactly what MAGA is.

with no expression of political disagreement allowed
Trump has a remarkable tendency for vengeance against his political opponents.

Trump is a fascist by any reasonable definition.

Go read a few history books on early to mid twentieth century. You may hate the man, dislike his policies - fine. He is no fascist.

I think he and his supporters want fascism but are only getting through some of it. They're chipping and chipping away at our government, laws and precedents to get the rest of it. Trump has outright attacked the other two branches that are meant to be checking him every chance he gets.
