Did Bloomberg really fail badly at debate? hmmmm

I guess i am not really the one to ask because i only saw a few clips of Bloomberg's supposedly awful moments. Frankly, i don't see where they are that awful. So the pundits say he didn't prepare for the debate. Well, sometimes those who really believe in themselves don't spend much time preparing for such things.

I just don't know what the pundits are going wacko about. I think Warren was too aggressive (guess I am misogynist... sigh). I am wondering why she is so fixated on billionaires, for one thing??? Oh, probably because she was hoping to be one some day and saw the presidency as the best route... just like Bill

Is she envious? God knows. I'm just getting tired of the "billionaires are evil" schtick. That's not to say i agree w/ all he ways in which billionaires spend their money. Why is there still no affordable housing for low income people? (and etc...)

so anyhow...

I don't like the comments Bloomberg has made about women or to women.

btw: Why hasn't he apologized for that? or has he?

I don't know... but I wouldn't want any of these yahoos for president... that's what i know for certain..

If there's any take away having seen the entirety of the debate, yeah, Bloomberg got demolished, and far worse than anyone else I've seen in a debate in memory.

As we've seen in this election, and 2016, about the only thing the pundits and talking heads can be relied on for is getting it totally wrong.

He was, if anything, a bit too overconfident and disconnected. Still, this part of one of his ads makes me giggle. Someone didn't to their homework. Does anyone else spot it?

so they may get Bloom wrong also

I don't know but I don't want a gay pres...

don't want a pres who thinks the unborn don't have rights--which is ALL of them! [roll eyes smiley here]

I'm depressed (at times) until this whole D thing ends

First 45 minutes was pretty bad.

He did well after that though.

For most of the night he stumbled and bumbled and froze...like a deer in the headlights just before being rammed by a car

That ramming happened when Warren hit him full bore with the NDA issue...and then he was side-swiped by Biden no less.

Bloomberg may be a long game player. He'll come at Sanders next time - if there is a next time. This appearance really hurt him. BUT if he doe well enough to still make the next debate then he's not out of it. Ideally, all of them stay in to stop Sanders, forcing it to a contested convention.

Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden were aggressive because Mike Bloomberg forced them to be. The public wants to know everything he is hiding from them about tax returns, stop and frisk, and his female employees being sexually harrassed at work but not allowed to report their accusations. Bloomberg did everything he could to prove he is not willing to make those admissions every Democratic voter needs to hear. Don't blame Warren and Biden for what Bloomberg did.

Watch more than a few clips. See how Bloomberg responds to the stop and frisk question asked by one of the moderators, then Warren's reaction. Also see the part when he lied about releasing all of his tax returns. This guy failed at every personal attack that night.

You have to understand, we have basic standards on our side of the aisle. Stopping-and-frisking, sexual harassment, etc. probably means that a candidate fails those standards.

Speaking of which...

I just don't know what the pundits are going wacko about. I think Warren was too aggressive (guess I am misogynist... sigh).

1. The overwhelming consensus is that Warren won that debate.

2. Ask yourself how different your reaction would have been if a man had done what she did.

What's interesting to me is how being totally humiliated on national television didn't phase him a bit. If I went through that, you'd never hear from me again. But people like Bloomberg, who are incredibly successful in the private sector, don't view failure the same way most of us do. I watched him in an interview, and he's actually looking forward to the next debate. He takes failure as a learning experience, which is really difficult for most of us to do.

IIRC, you predicted he would be the nominee and then you retracted that prediction. What do you think now?

First 45 minutes was pretty bad.

He did well after that though.

For Mike Bloomberg, all of it was bad. On the enviornmental change question, he said even though fracking does hurt the environment and climate change is a pressing issue now, it must continue. He also sounded like we need help from China and India to fix global warming right here in America, which means shipping our jobs overseas for all the wrong reasons. Did I misunderstand that part?

Eh. Pete called Warren out on her money-in-politics hypocrisy ages ago. Bloomberg called a British Royal a “horsey faced lesbian” 30 years ago. Nobody cares. And wasn’t that about the same time she was pretending to be Native American? Bloomberg will be in this thing until the convention. Warren will be toast soon enough.

Why do you think that has anything to do with Elizabeth Warren demolishing Mike Bloomberg, repeatedly proving he is the Democratic Donald Trump?

She hardly demolished him. No one cares about quotes from 30 years ago and her complaints about his wealth are disingenuous. Hers are just the shrill cries of a dying campaign.

Again, you appear to be posting from an alternate universe.

Mayor Mike knew he would be handled roughly, dealt with it, and is moving on, leaving several of the candidates bobbing in his wake.

Napoleon above is current and correct, and Surrealistik . . .?

If he actually knew it was coming, he should have just sat out the debate; it would almost certainly wouldn't have been as bad for him. He's either foolish for attending the debate, or foolish for not having anticipated his demolition.

The outcome is not nearly as dubious as you suggest. He knew what was coming, knew he had to face it sooner than later, and is moving right on.

Thus far the impact on his support and favourability has been overwhelmingly negative.

This debate cemented my choices. I will enthusiastically vote for either Warren or Buttigieg. I am ok with Klobuchar. IF we pick Biden, or Sanders I will get religion and pray to every God I can find to pray to that they can somehow get elected. I will vomit in the toilet as I vote for Bloomburg. I would rather write in Putin's name directly than vote for Trump. That shows I am more honest about what I am actually doing than the US Senate.

Everyone cares about what she demolished him for. Everyone needed and wanted to hear Warren's attacks on Bloomberg. They got it and, as expected, she won all of them. And those attacks were exactly the ones everyone needed to hear.

He will recover easily.
