More and more I am seeing bizarre attempts at "wokeness" on TV and in real life. I manage a resort and had a guest complain that somebody from our staff picked up his laundry from his room but it was never returned. I asked him if he new the name of the person. He said no. I asked him for a description of the person...Start the wokeness. He said he didn't feel comfortable describing the person. I told him that if we could get a description of the person we would have a better chance of finding his laundry. I asked was he white? His answer was he was "darker" complected". Was he a Mexican? No darker than that. Was he black? At this point he became super nervous and said again he felt uncomfortable naming the persons color.

This person would rather live in his "Woke" nightmare than find his laundry. People on the left describe Trump supporters as "cultists". The real "cult" is these bizarre "woke" people. How fragile can you get. I couldn't imagine walking on eggshells all day making sure you say the right thing or else be thrown out of the cult.

I was playing poker the other day and a "lady" quit the game. After she left a discussion started regarding whether she was a man or a women. While eight of us had a good laugh there was one "woke" guy at the table. When he was asked what he thought he said "I think she is whatever she believes she is". At which point everybody looked at him and rolled their eyes. Just answer the damn question would ya?

I'm trying to learn what percentage of people out there consider themselves "woke". This world is becoming more and more phony by the day. I believe this "Woke" culture needs to be stomped out. People need to rejoin the real world.

Regarding the color of the person picking up the laundry. I work with blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians etc. Having an accurate description of the individual would clearly help in figuring out the missing laundry situation. It's called common sense not racism.

Woke is a joke, but you went about this wrong. As a manager, it helps to learn to ask open ended questions, rather than close ended.

For instance, you ask, what did this person look like? Let them do the talking. You'll get more info that way.

And no, its not OK to ridicule someone behind their back. Grab some balls and do it to their face, when they can defend themselves. But you fear that defence, like any bully.

By the description, there was someone at the table who nobody knew their gender, it sounds like he's playing at a public place so yes, it's probably complete bull**** he has an exact percentage of the political beliefs of the people he was playing with - if he was even playing to begin with.

No! As humans we need to directly communicate and stop with the fluff. If you ask a direct question you should get a direct answer. I'm sick of you people complicating very simple things. Ask open ended questions? "Sir, can you tell me how you were feeling about this individual who picked up your laundry?" This is exactly the epidemic we are dealing with in this country.

You're describing a dynamic that is one of self-preservation, not wokeness. For one to be woke, racial distinctions must be recognized and championed for the purposes of political correctness. When someone is unwilling to racially identify a person, there is a possibility that they are afraid of using improper terminology, or otherwise regarding the race in an improper way, which would lead to persecution. I count myself among them.

I am as anti-PC as they come. I will never vote democrat. However, when it comes to race, I'm extremely careful to make sure I don't get persecuted for any kind of superficial faux pas.
