Which of the listed potential Democratic candidates do you think can beat Trump in the 2020 presidential election?

Feel free to provide reasons, but if you just go with a gut feeling of sorts that's fine too.

Edit:
I listed the top 8 candidates in descending order of polling numbers according to the RCP national average, less Yang, who dropped out.

Just like last time Sanders has the best chance, the nation really is that angry, because the elites really have failed that badly. Failed so badly that even after three years these morons STILL cant figure out why Trump was able to win a fair election.

Their brains can not compute.

They suck that much.

SAD

Everyone knows Trump won an UNfair election except Turmp supporters, who think nothing matters except a few portions of the Mueller Report.

I voted for Bernard Sanders. It looks obvious some of the others will drop out after Super Tuesday. He could be the last man standing in early June.

All of these years later no proof of any wrong doing has been found against Trump in spite of massive looking and in spite of abuse by the investigators.

At this point you need to show up with proof of guilt, and I do mean proof, otherwise I have better things to do... and so do you.

Other than Bernie, no one really.
The democrats have been actively fighting against one another for more than enough time, that they've basically gouged each others campaigns. Only a few of them have been able to actually say something more than "orange man bad" for the last few months and even then, it's not something that many of the American people can actively mesh with.

I would still like to see Gabbard make it to the primaries, but that boat has sailed with all of the character assassination that's come from her own people.

Bernie on the other hand has a hard fight ahead of him. What with the DNC doing it's best to let Bloomberg basically purchase the election and with all of the switch up in attacks coming his way from his home party. Bernie hasn't done much to show that he's worth becoming the president. He's turned his back on his own supporters and has flipped on so many of his original policies & stances from 2016, that some are adamant he's barely the same candidate.

Only Trump supporters say there was no proof every time he is investigated for anything. It happens every time, no matter what the investigation is about.

Its not who says it that matters, what matters the True/Not True Ratio of what was said.

You were supposed to learn this by grade nine in my schools.

I do however claim that people suck now.

Where are your schools?

I learned the basics about how laws are made (Senate and House agree on a bill before the President signs or vetos it) in middle school. But I was not taught anything about how presidents are elected until eleventh grade.

The point never touched you, and now I have the sads....

Biden is finishing forth and fifth. That is not a winning campaign. He's time is long past and he had to be told that at the ballot box by his party, like Gingrich did in 2012.

Klobuchar might be able to beat Trump, but seems too stale to excite the base at all. Maybe she'd be a good VP though.

Bloomberg runs nice ads. Still, his record on civil rights and backing Bush policies will sink him when the chips are down, and many Democrats will refuse to back someone buying an election.

Warren's platform is too mixed-up to run against Trump. We needs someone with a clear message.

That leaves Sanders and Buttigieg. They're really the only ones left. That's why they are doing so well right now, despite the pundits saying they can't win. Sanders has a clear edge for now because his base is more diverse than Buttigieg, and the latter's lane might stay too crowded for him to build a strong enough coalition.

Sanders elected Trump last time. He'll elect Trump again. That is the effect of radicals within a political party. In the end, they usually cause the other side to win. The more support Sanders gets in the primary (he'll lose), the less votes the Democrat will get and the more votes Trump will get.

Do you think Russians will trick you into voting for Trump again? That is your claim, isn't it?

Democrats will be nominating one of the most autocratic old white racist elites in the USA - Bloomberg.

Sanders ONLY hope is that Buttigieg - who actually is a fanatical Sanders supporter and is doing all possible to try to hide that - is if - combined, Sanders and Buttigieg have at least 55% of the delegates. Sanders would make Buttigieg his VP candidate - at which time Buttigieg would become honest about his real political agenda - which is as radical, if not more radical socialist than Sanders.

The strongest candidate against Trump would be Klobuchar because she is so unassuming, not known for scandals and is female.

Her strength is that being almost invisible to people, this makes it entirely an election between pro and anti Trump votes. Every other Democrat carries a LOT of negative baggage that will not add votes, but lose votes.

The IDEAL ballot for Democrats would be:

____ Trump

____ Not Trump

for which "not Trump" is a vote for the Democrat. Klobuchar has the bare minimal qualifications to be president plus she's a woman. That is ideal.

She also is actually a Democrat. Sanders isn't. Never has been. Bloomberg isn't. Became a Democrat in 2018. Both are really old white men. All really old white men are pigheadedly stubborn, set in their ways, and certain they already know everything about everything - identical to Trump - a very old white man too.
Sanders is a segregationist socialist. Bloomberg is racist and wannabe tyrannical autocrat openly against nearly everything the Democratic Party wants.

Klobuchar is safe to the Democratic Party. Win or lose, both Sanders and Bloomberg destroy the liberal Democratic Party.

The RISKS of Sanders and Bloomberg as the nominee is astronomical. Picking either would be an extra stupid and unnecessary desperate gamble. Either way, win or lose, the American liberal Democratic Party loses. It will either be the Socialist Workers Party OR the party of the super rich corporate autocrats.

The party is a wreck....it is in shambles....this is at 80% Clinton Corp /20% COOL OBAMA! fault.

And now they will suffer the wrath of the people, we who long ago got to "ENOUGH!", and were ignored by people who dont care about us.

This coming from the crowd that supports the “***** grabbing” wannabe dictator is hilarious. You guys already sold your soul to any country that wants to take us over. You are the enemy of the US. May all trump supporters get the negative karma they deserve.

You are incapable of listening....you are lost...a really sad story.

It's Praxas, what else were you expecting. He can't actually debate anything and only resorts to either personal attacks other posters, or just spitting insults about Trump supporters in general.

Though given how much the left are buying in with Bloomberg, it's rather funny that he's running the "sold your soul" claim against anyone at this point.

Let him wallow in his own hate, it's not like he's actually going to do, or amount to much when it comes to a real debate.

Alright, I'll bite. What has Trump done, to reveal himself as being a wannabe dictator?

You know as I am likely in my last days in large part because my leaders have failed me and my peers suck I am mostly sitting back and appreciating what I got right, which is far better than most accomplished but then again I tried, which is unusual now, because when compare to the people who built Western Civilization and America the Modern Morons of today are thin gruel....and what is even worse too ignorant to know that it is thin gruel.

How can it not know what it is?

Deckard, Blade Runner....the real one.

I long ago stopped sweating the Rug Rats.

But Thanks!

Bloomberg is a numbers guy, relying on an infinite number of polls. He just hired the woman who ran Hil's campaign, Bill's former administrative secretary. Bloomberg polling shows a Hil VP candidacy will win him the convention candidacy. Hil will see this last ditch entry to the Whitehouse as Trump revenge. Sanders supporters will see this as a theft of the candidacy, and the party politic will split, giving Trump the election like a gift horse who's mouth has not been examined. Once again, the democratic party defeats itself. No matter, this country will not elect a socialist/communist. The Che Sanders posters are ready for printing. 2024 will see Mayor Pete as a front runner. The old guard will be dead or too close to death to run. This has been a grooming run for him. The big question, who will republicans run in 2024 as an "I'm not anti gay, anti gay candidate?"

It's been a long time since I've seen an anti-gay candidate on any side of the isle.

That is an interesting scenario for sure, however it omits what happens in NV, SC and after Bloomberg enters the picture on Super Tuesday. Basing your call on only the DNC primary results in Iowa and New Hampshire is very weak.

My hope is anyone who runs against trump beats him

I am appalled that trump has any support left. Trump supporters are.an embarrassment to America and a real danger to it's future.
