Should we put Martin Luther King Jr. on our currency? Before some moron says no we only put presidents and or founders on our money. That is absolutely false. People who were not presidents or founders have appeared on various coins and paper currency in the past.

Yes
No
Other because there is someone more deserving than MLK jr should be on our currency.

What are some of the other choices? Ronald Reagan? Clarence Thomas? Robert E. Lee? John Wayne? Oprah?

Your one of those people who don't mind the government tracking everything you purchase and likes to pretend that since you use a credit card for everything then so must everyone else.

If my bank does it I don't see why the government couldn't as well. It isn't like I am out buying nuclear materials and bioweapons. I buy toilet paper and cokes.

MLK Jr has a commemorative coin with his face on it. I think that's fine enough.

Are you sure its a commemorative coin instead of a medallion/round? A coin will have a clearly marked face value on it and is legal tender. A medallion/ round is not legal tender and there will not be a face value on it.

Cryptocurrency is imaginary currency. How do you put someone's picture on something imaginary?

same way we mark currency, it denominations. 5 bitcoins could be recognized as an MLK. people can choose whether to see the symbol or picture representing the money. you could change you picture from a skull to a picture of MLK and everyone would be reminded of him whenever they read your posts.

Stay with dead presidents on the folding money. Put anything on the coins.

I remember two coins being televised. Medallions on the other hand, not sure about.

What about having the actual Martin Luther on your coins?

Martin Luther was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, monk, and a seminal figure in the Protestant Reformation.

Luther was ordained to the priesthood in 1507. He came to reject several teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church; in particular, he disputed the view on indulgences. Luther proposed an academic discussion of the practice and efficacy of indulgences in his Ninety-five Theses of 1517. His refusal to renounce all of his writings at the demand of Pope Leo X in 1520 and the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms in 1521 resulted in his excommunication by the pope and condemnation as an outlaw by the Holy Roman Emperor.

Sure. Put MLK on one side, and one of the prostitutes he hired on the other.

Like Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill? Oh, wait...

The are medallions instead of actual coins. Because the U.S. mint has not made any MLK jr coins. The ones claiming to be MLK jr coins are medallions made by private manufactures or they take existing coins and color over them or put a sticker on them. Those things are worthless except for the silver rounds which be only the value of the silver in it.

I am not interested in racist conspiracy theories about MLK jr's private life.

Whether you are interested in the FBI's dossier on MLK is quite irrelevant.

You do know Ben Franklin and Alexander Hamilton were never presidents? Also we have had people other than presidents and founders on our paper currency.

I could care less what some racists were trying to push about MLK jr.

Its the I ain't got nothing to hide so let them monitor me argument.

As noted:

"Facts do not care about your feelings."

Other than the word of some racist do you have any actual proof MLK jr hired prostitutes? Any audio of him actually admitting to this or video of him hiring prostitutes?

Again cryptocurrency is imaginary and most people would never get to use it.

It was reported in internal FBI documents (which were not intended for public release in the near future when written) based on extensive surveillance. There is no evidence to indicate that the reports were fabricated, and MLK's serial adultery is independently well established.

It was bs pushed by a racist and included as the racist's speculation in a report. It's not "according to FBI files"; your claim is racist garbage and a lie

Maybe it is the they are going to do it anyway and not a damn thing I can do about it argument. Welcome to the modern world of geo-fencing.

Yes, why not put the Rev. Dr. King on our currency?

It would make a lot of people very proud.

And that would be a good thing.

The social justice enthusiasts already have already shown intent to remove Andrew jackson on the $20 & replaced by Harriet Tubman.
Harriet Tubman is actually a horrible choice, especially if you want to justify choice by historical facts. To justify removing President Jackson
based on a story of exaggeration is disingenuous. While Harriet may have been helpful during that time, I only wish she could've taken a better picture.

MLK would have been a much better choice than Harriet Tubman. They should have initiated a $40 bill rather than eliminating Jackson with this woman.
It will solve the problem getting change from $100 dollar bill when the price is $20. You only need 2 bills instead of 3 or 4 currently.

I hope Martin Luther King is on the twenty one day.

Race is the biggest problem America faces, and MLK did a lot to improve race relations.

Andrew Jackson is okay, but he's not up to his portrait being on the $20 okay. MLK is.
