Sounds like a trial will happen. Curious what others wish to see happen with the trial. When I say evidence in the options I mean anything Roberts deems relevant including witnesses and new witnesses.

IMO when asked to review the guilt or innocence of a person a juror should always hear all of the evidence and should vote what they believe. Party should not be a factor here.

Presidential, or any governmental position, should be free of corruption and abuse. To refuse evidence and vote based on if someone is in your gang, or if you like someone, or regardless of their political affiliation. The same is true for the other side. I'd be disappointed if Dems were to vote guilty just because they don't like Trump or because he's a Republican. The political divide is going to destroy us and it is being exploited and magnified during this process. I'd love to see the senate do their jobs and hold this trial, and vote honestly without factoring in party or person.

I don't think that CJ Roberts will actually have very much to do with it.

The "jurors" hear all evidence then vote without bias. Because duh.

All the evidence was presented in the House. If they couldn't find enough evidence after several weeks of testimony, why now? The House portion is done and its up to the Senate to finish this and not CNN and a discredited person even they have said was a dubious person..

Seems silly to me that the Senate votes based on evidence heard by other people. These people deciding guilt should hear the evidence, in it's entirety directly for themselves. Why should it be any other way?

If you must force me to speculate...

For each charge, a witness statement or two will be chosen and argued.
The House made it’s case. Now they are done. The used naked partisan power in the House, and they will be on the other end of it in the Senate.

Depending on the polls and expected landing date of Durhams report, the Republicans may let it drag out as long as politically profitable.

Is it even possible to swear in a heresay witness, let alone an opinion witness?

This will be a very partisan jury and no one is convince either democrats or republicans they haven't already decided the out come.

I am not forcing you to do anything.

I am not asking you to speculate on anything.

Reread the OP and poll. I think you are confused.

That isn't what the poll question asked. Nor am I stating that it isn't a partisan jury.

I am asking what you think should happen. Meaning your preference. The right thing to do.

When the house sends articles of impeachment to the senate should senators listen to the evidence or dismiss and vote based on the presidents party?

Must I repeat myself...its already decided.

Not sure. I will watch all the episodes of Designated Survivor and get back to you. What I expect, however, is a three ring circus and lots of teeth gnashing in the end. Be careful where you step. There will be pearls all over the floor.

You are attempting to answer a question no one is asking. If you can't comprehend things I don't see a need to continue. You can reply if you wish but personally my conversation is over with you until you take to the time to learn basic reading comprehension.

Don’t be a liar. You want trump dismissed and wanted that from day one of his election.

Ironically, if it were done my way that would help Republicans' legacy rather than harm it.

A lot of people want Trump out of office but I haven't seen much for people who want to see him removed via impeachment without cause.

You mean like congressman such as Maxine “let’s impeach the mother****er” Waters or Al “if we don’t impeach him he’ll get re-elected” Green?

You think Cardinal is Maxine Waters? I don't think you are right.

Also those are real fancy quotes, but do you have anything where Dems come out saying we should bypass the process or ignore evidence?

Do you have an actual answer to the original post? Or are you just here to whine about Maxine Waters?

No leftist ever condemns their own so I’m forced to conclude they support or at least are ok with this attitude.

“Impeach the mfer “ doesn’t sound to me like “let’s pursue the evidence in a calm and collected manner”

Nor does handing out bundles of souvenir pens.

Uhhh, she's not a Senator, neither is Rep. Green. How are they at all relevant to this thread?

They sent mountains of evidence to the senate. Show me where leftists are refusing to condemn their own?

BTW you still are only derailing and refusing to answer.

You cannot defend your own stance so instead you want to discuss Waters, who is irrelevant and lie about the left refusing to condemn while you yourself refuse to even hear evidence because it might condemn a person with "R" by their name. Hypocrisy is not a compliment.

You can see from the poll results so far the left would prefer a fair unbiased trial where evidence is reviewed and heard. The right want evidence suppressed and innocent declared immediately based on party bias. Your entire argument is failed. It isn't uncommon though for you to lose and just dig in so by all means continue.

Forget Parnas, what about the evidence withheld by the White House? Zero documents, prevention of witnesses from testifying. Can you say this with a straight face? 'djt is keeping those from Congress because he is concerned about the future of the Presidency'.

If you believe that, you probably believe that we will see his taxes, a middle-class tax cut, the press conference to clarify the FLOTUS immigration and work status and on and on. Do you believe?

A funny thing about the poll results already: if you've voted for the second option, that's a tacit admission that seeing the evidence might not result in a vote to acquit without bias.

I know you won't see it that way...or will pretend not to see it that way...but that's exactly what it is.

Wow that's a lot of generalizations. Totally untrue ones. A couple of years ago a popular Democratic senator was forces to resign because a woman accused him of sexual harassment that happened about 10 years before. So don't give me that bull**** about "no leftists ever". Democrats don't all think alike, so implying that they are all Maxine Waters is ridiculous. The house Democrats only decided on impeachment after two and a half of years of Trumps presidency. It's true that some did want impeachment from the start but the majority of them did not.

The option I would vote for wasn't listed. The Democrats impeached on the evidence that they gathered from the House hearings and that is "all of the evidence". That is the evidence that should be presented in the Senate trial. No more, no less - but - we don't need to hear the same evidence all over again. We already heard it and it was under oath. We should just use the evidence that is already available. The House impeached on that evidence and the Senate jurors should decide the case based on the evidence used for impeachment. It is not up to the Senate to add additional evidence. If the House wanted to add additional evidence then they should have had longer House hearings and gotten all of the evidence they wanted before they impeached. They didn't do that so we go with the evidence they used to impeach.
