Nancy Pelosi's plan to take the presidency is very transparent, particularly noting how desperately they are trying to join Pence into the impeachment/removal process. This is the urgency. If Trump and Pence are removed, she becomes President. If she can become president before too many primaries, it is predictable that Democrats would nominate their own Democratic President Pelosi as their party's nominee.

So, do you think Pelosi's quest to capture the presidency without an election will succeed?

You're...serious?

On what evidence do you base this?

It's going to be a double-play. A presidency for nancy with no election and a trial for trump with no witnesses.

Yup, the party of no is back again.

I haven't seen any indication that Nancy wants to be President...only that she doesn't want Trump to win a second term.

Ct section is that way

Where are the articles of impeachment for the Vice President?

It is technically possible. The line of succession is Prez, Vp, Speaker of the House. If they knock off Trump, they won’t stop at VP or the next Centrist president.

Given the new low impeachment bar, it means the party with control of the House and 2/3rds of the Senate deposes both Prez and VP, “just because”, and Speaker of the Swamp becomes Prez.

I don't think she or they want to. But that's just my opinion.

It's not as easy as just that to impeach but yous guys wish it twas...

You could see during her pen trick at the impeachment signing that she has aspirations. No one but a president passes out pens.

Yes, no human being but a President could pass out pens.

If Pelosi did become President it should be mandatory to donate her dentures to the Smithsonian after she dies.

What specific current events?

The impeachment and now trial. It is rather absurd to claim if you shoot at someone ahead of you on the ladder to the top, you don't want to get to the top.

Well, if Trump is removed from office, Pence would take over as pres, a new Republican VP would be appointed and if Pence is then impeached and removed then that person would take over as pres, not Nancy. Hey, didn't something like this happen once before? In any event, Trump is not being removed from office by the Senate.

Why wait. Head included at no extra charge!

Not if Clinton, Inc. bumped off Pense right away.

The opposite is true. It's rather absurd to claim such a thing. And the comparison to shooting is not a good one.

The House, whose speaker is Nancy Pelosi, voted to impeach Trump. It has since that point sent the articles of impeachment (after some delay/discussion) to the Senate for trial.

It takes several unsupported leaps of assumption to conclude that this is not just an impeachment proceeding against a president for stuff the majority of congress thinks is impeachable, but a plot to remove Trump and somehow Pence as well, who has not been impeached or even considered for such, to make Nancy Pelosi president.

Technically possible is not nearly the same thing as likely. It is technically possible Trump is a space alien sent to Earth to bring the top world power crumbling down before the space aliens invade. It is not likely, but it is possible. More likely than the scenario of this thread. Let's look at it a second. It would go one of two ways: they impeach Trump, then hold an impeachment inquiry, impeach and get the senate to convict Pence, all before the end of the year, all so Pelosi can be president a couple months. Or they impeach Trump, Pence wins in November, then they impeach him. Of course, in each case, after Trump was impeached, they require for some reason Pence not picking a new VP.

Or to put it another way, the idea in the OP is ****ing idiotic and shows a gross ignorance of the constitution, politics, logic and common sense. You are a smart guy Chuckie, and a good guy. You know better than this crap. Don't get dragged into the stupid by a troll thread.

Trump supporters are trying anything to see what sticks.

Pretty smart actually.

The idiocy is your message as a constitutional matter. Try reading this:

Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution - Wikipedia

If Trump is impeached, Pence becomes president and there is NO vice president - NOR could there even be another vice president selected unless Pelosi's Democrats in the House confirmed the appointment. When Pelosi and House Democrats would quick confirm a VP picked by Pence is quite a while after hell freezes over. Thus, impeach and remove Pence for exactly the same reasons as Trump (noting they now claim that Pence was completely "in the loop" for all this) - and Pelosi becomes president.

Of course, Pence could also die or be dragged into another basis for removal. Remove Trump and Pelosi is a heartbeat (or another impeachment/removal) from the presidency. If Trump is removed, Pelosi has months to try to eliminate Pence - with NO vice president between Pelosi and the presidency.

Nor is it like any of the Democratic candidates now running are running away with the nomination - and it is possible none of them will - taking it to the Democratic convention. Presidential candidates being picked by the convention because none won a primaries majority is not rare for either political party.

If Pelosi were president and in this none of the candidates outright won the nomination in the primaries, what chance is there that the Democratic National Convention would throw Democrat President Nancy Pelosi to the side on behalf of Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders? Why? They're all really old and white too.

To me, this seems exactly how alcoholic, early stage old age dementia Pelosi could calculate this. She certainly is doing everything towards that calculation.

Let me ask you this. IF somehow by removals and/or deaths Pelosi quickly became president, would you support her or one of the Democrats now running to be the Democratic candidate in 2020? It seems clear to me they would stick with their president - like political parties ALWAYS do.

I'm curious as to why no Democrat seems to even like this scenario, which is a remote but very real possibility.

Why is that? They don't want a President Pelosi? They think she's a crazy old woman too? The top 3 Democrats for president are all OLD white people like Pelosi. Do Democrats like them MORE than Pelosi?
