You live in a nation where every president has been a Christian, or at the very least faked it like the current one. Where Christians are over represented in congress, judgeship's, governorships, state houses, and all levels of government. Where a megachurch can build a country club for its members and still not pay a cent in tax..... Yet you think you are persecuted.

There are Christians in this world that face actual persecution. It is a shameful slap in the face to them for you to claim you are being persecuted as a Christian in America, the most Christian friendly nation in the entire modern developed world.

And you are uneducated in the matter if you think Christian persecution in America doesn't exist.

whatever

I don't claim to u/stand God

but I believe the Word is His Word and if someone says it is not.. I say

Well, you have to admit

sure would be good if it WERE true, eh?

i mean

love your neighbor as yourself... That definitely should be true, shouldn't it?

Love your neighbor as yourself is common to almost all major religions. Buddhists for example had the same morals hundreds of years before Jesus was born.

which of Jesus's Commandments is hardest for YOU to do?

Why such a negative question?

Why not: Which rule are you specially in favour of?

And you are uneducated in the matter if you think Christian persecution in America doesn't exist.

You are hopelessly self absorbed if you think you are being persecuted as a Christian in America. Not being able to enforce your religious views by force of law onto others is not persecution.

False.

Few denominations (Witness and Adventist for examples) hold the Sabbath as moral law. Other denominations relegate Sabbath to ceremonial law and thereby fulfilled by Jesus and no longer God's law upon mankind (like diet). Further, Sabbath is to take place on the last day of the week, not the first. Jewish Shabbat is Saturday.

And it's not just about going to church. It's about what one does all day long. It's about walking with the Spirit once a week, and that being moral law.

Lastly, even among the rare denominations that hold keeping Sabbath as moral law, failing to go to church is not a sin. It's a sin to fail to observe Sabbath. Going to church is a way to observe Sabbath for part of the day, but it's not satisfying the law and it's not required to satisfy the law.
believe as you like. it's a free country

I have studied Church history and Catholicism specifically and I know that

well, doesn't Jesus just always say it best?

"I have come not to destroy the law but to fulfill"

"Not one jot or one tittle shall pass away until..."

God does not change

He did away with a lot of the Jewish rituals but not all of them.. and why, just WHY would someone want to stay away from Jesus on the Sabbath or any other day?

and yet many do want to stay away from him... even professed Christians..

oh brother

Christians are persecuted all the time in this country.. It is one reason many drop out of the faith

they can't handle the heat...

When you've been on top forever, equality looks like persecution.

Exactly. The courts struck down sodomy laws, thus I am being persecuted as a Christian. I can't hang bible verses in court rooms anymore, thus I am being persecuted as a Christian. I cannot discriminate against others in my business and must abide by public accommodation laws, thus I am being persecuted as a Christian...

Its hard to keep the Sabbath holy when there's a football game on

I am sorry, but that is simply not true. You talk to 100 atheists that used to be Christian and ask them what drove them from the church. Easily 95 of them will tell you it was their perceived hypocrisy of church members and the church itself.

That's easy. This 3rd commitment. And I quote:

"No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

Toughest one for me is love thy neighbor.
I do support the commandment to wish thy neighbor get professional help.

Peter was crucified upside down for his faith, and he kept it until he died. Are honestly going to hang your hat on declining church membership is due to Christians feeling persecuted because a bakery had to sell a gay couple a wedding cake. That is laughable.

Much of Western Christianity came to view Sunday as a transference of Sabbath observance to the first day, identifying Sunday with a first-day "Christian Sabbath". While first-day Sabbatarian practice declined during the 18th century, leaving few modern followers, its concern for stricter Sunday observances did have influence in the west, shaping the origin of the Christian Sabbath. The term no longer applies to a specific set of practices, but tends to be used to describe the general establishment of Sunday worship and rest observances within Christianity. It does not necessarily imply the displacement of the Sabbath itself, which is often recognized as remaining on Saturday. As such, the Christian Sabbath generally represents a reinterpretation of the meaning of the Sabbath in the light of Christian law, emphases of practice, and values.

Ask your priest if keeping Sabbath is moral law. He'll tell you no.

Jesus only told us two commandments. Keeping the Sabbath holy is a Mosaic law, one of the Ten Commandments. Helping the poor is part of loving others as yourself.

I voted for "can't decide" because my medical conditions prevent me from doing some of the commandments. I will not go into the details here.

Hardest is for me to stop laughing at people who think this Jesus dude is anything other than a guy in a long robe and sandals with dark eyes and skin.

Actually, we don't, either, Eco...after Jesus’ death, his apostles at no time commanded Sabbath observance...the Sabbath was not included as a Christian requirement at Acts 15:28, 29, or later...

I voted "love your neighbor as yourself". I TRY. But it is one of the harder commandments, especially when people attack you for your faith, belittle you, attack you, etc.

I don't even try, really. I mean, if we're all being honest here.

And you are uneducated in the matter if you think Christian persecution in America doesn't exist.

We're really not...we have religious freedom like no other country...my brothers in Russia are being persecuted...really persecuted, as in everything taken away from them, homes raided, tortured, and locked up in prison...that is true persecution...

Witnesses consider Sabbath to be moral law, not ceremonial. Other denominations consider it ceremonial.

Jesus gave us only 2 commandments...

“‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets. Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus didn't have commandments.
